Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of First of Six New Airbus A321-200neo Aircraft to China Airlines
Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of one new Airbus A321-200neo aircraft on long-term lease to China Airlines. Featuring Pratt & Whitney PW1133G-JM engines, this is the first of six new A321-200neos confirmed to deliver to the airline from ALC’s orderbook with Airbus. This aircraft is the first A321neo to deliver to China Airlines.
Alaska Airlines Extends HAECO MRO Agreement
HAECO Americas announced that the company has extended its long-standing agreement with Alaska Airlines to provide airframe services in the form of heavy maintenance and modification services on the airline’s growing fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft at its Greensboro, North Carolina facility through 2027.
Allegiant, Viva Aerobus Announce First-Of-Its-Kind Commercial Alliance Agreement
Allegiant and Viva Aerobus announced plans for a fully-integrated Commercial Alliance Agreement, designed to dramatically expand options for nonstop leisure air travel between the United States and Mexico. . The alliance is not only the first such venture for Las Vegas-based Allegiant and Viva Aerobus, but is also first-of-its-kind in the airline industry between two ultra low cost carriers (ULCCs). Allegiant and Viva Aerobus have submitted a joint application to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requesting approval of and antitrust immunity for the alliance. Allegiant will also make an equity investment of $50 million in Viva Aerobus, and Allegiant Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr. is expected to join the Viva Aerobus Board of Directors. The transactions are also subject to clearance by the Mexican Federal Economic Competition Commission.
Avmax Delivers Second Dash 8-300 to PassionAir in Ghana
Avmax Aircraft Leasing Inc announced the delivery of a second Dash 8-300 (MSN 305) to PassionAir, based in Accra, Ghana. PassionAir received its first Dash 8-300 (MSN 216) from Avmax in December 2020.
First NetJets 7500 Is Bombardier's 1,000th Global
NetJets took delivery of the first of an order for 20 Bombardier Global 7500s, which also marks the aircraft manufacturer's delivery of the 1,000th Global. Accepting the 7500 at a delivery ceremony at the Canadian airframer’s Montreal facility. NetJets president of sales, marketing, and services Patrick Gallagher said “The Global 7500 adds a new dimension to our long-range aircraft offerings at a time when demand for our aircraft is at its highest, our strategy is focused on continuing to deliver solutions that meet our owners’ needs and expectations.”
Pratt & Whitney Introduces GTF Advantage for Airbus A320neo Aircraft Family to Extend Industry Leadership in Sustainability and Customer Value
The Pratt & Whitney GTF Advantage™ engine for Airbus A320neo family aircraft further extends the economic and environmental benefits of the existing GTF engine. The GTF Advantage configuration reduces fuel consumption by an additional 1%, extending the engine's lead as the most efficient powerplant for the A320neo family. In total, the engine decreases fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 17 percent compared to prior-generation engines. Additionally, the GTF Advantage engine will be compatible with 100 percent sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at entry into service. This new configuration delivers higher thrust, both at sea level and for "hot and high" airports.
