AEI To Provide Ten (10) Additional B737-800SF Freighter Conversions To Aero Capital Solutions Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is pleased to announced the company has been awarded a contract to provide leading mid-life lessor Aero Capital Solutions (ACS) with ten (10) additional B737-800SF Freighter Conversions. This news follows an AEI announcement in October 2020 providing ACS with four B737-800SFs. Once this order is fulfilled, ACS will have converted a total of fourteen B737-800 aircraft through the AEI program. Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of Two New Boeing 737-8 Aircraft to Sunwing Airlines Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of two new Boeing 737-8 aircraft on long-term lease to Sunwing Airlines. These aircraft, featuring CFM International LEAP-1B27 engines, are the third and fourth new Boeing 737-8 aircraft to deliver to Sunwing from ALC’s order book with Boeing. Air Lease Corporation President & CEO John L. Plueger said “ALC is pleased to announce these two new Boeing 737-8 deliveries to Sunwing Airlines today. These aircraft mark ALC’s first 737-8 deliveries since the grounding and will provide state-of-the-art efficiency, cabin comfort, and advancement of Sunwing’s environmental sustainability initiatives.” Amerijet appoints Eric J. Wilson as new Chief Commercial Officer Amerijet International Airlines has officially announced Eric J. Wilson's appointment as Chief Commercial Officer effective from 8th February. Wilson will become a member of the executive team leading Amerijet's commercial division.  His core focus areas will include sales, pricing, marketing, network development, commercial and strategic alliances and new product development. Frontier Airlines Announces New Crew Base in Tampa and Future Plans to Establish Atlanta Base Frontier Airlines will establish a crew base at Tampa International Airport (TPA) opening in May 2021. Approximately 250 flight attendants and 140 pilots will be based at TPA this year with that number expected to increase in the future. Additionally, the airline announced its intention to open a crew base at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) in late 2021. Frontier Airlines CEO & President Barry Biffle said “With our low-cost structure and focus on leisure travel, Frontier is exceptionally well positioned to increase operations this year and continue to expand in these two growing markets.” Southwest Airlines Announces Leadership Changes With Retirements And Promotions Southwest Airlines announced the retirement of two veteran Officers and the promotion of several others within the carrier's ranks across the Operational, Finance, and Commercial Department. Executive Vice President of Daily Operations Greg Wells is retiring from his current position and will move to an Advisor role, effective 1st March.  Vice President of Customer Relations/Rapid Rewards Jim Ruppel has announced his retirement and will move to an Advisor role, effective from 1st March. Senior Vice President of Air Operations Alan Kasher is promoted to Executive Vice President of Daily Operations. Sam Ford is promoted to Vice President Operational Strategy & Performance. Chris "CJ" Johnson is promoted to Vice President Ground Operations. Julia Landrum is promoted to Managing Director Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). VSE Aviation: Exclusive Distribution Agreement With Triumph Systems & Support VSE Aviation announced that it has entered into an exclusive, five-year distribution agreement with Triumph Systems & Support as part of its new Aviation Landing Gear initiative. The agreement, which took effect in January, has a total estimated value of approximately $100 million over five years.
