Aquila Air Capital Upsizes Term Loan Facility
Aquila Air Capital announced the successful execution of new financing for $100 million, upsizing the lessor’s current term loan facility to $200 million. Aquila Air Capital Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis Martin Ryan, said “We are very pleased to have successfully upsized our term loan facility. This increase will be used to fund future investments as our customer demand continues to grow daily.”
Aurora Flight Sciences completes conceptual design review for X-plane
Aurora Flight Sciences announced it recently completed conceptual design review for a game-changing, high-speed, vertical lift X-plane and has been selected to continue development of a preliminary design review. The aircraft is being developed for a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) program called Speed and Runway Independent Technologies (SPRINT), which “aims to design, build, and fly an X-plane to demonstrate the key technologies and integrated concepts that enable a transformational combination of aircraft speed and runway independence.” The team estimates completion of their preliminary design review for the SPRINT program in approximately 12 months, with the goal of first flight in 36 months.
Cessna Skycourier Awarded FAA Certification For New Combi Option
Textron Aviation announced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted certification of a new Combi interior conversion option for the passenger variant of the twin-engine, Cessna SkyCourier turboprop aircraft. The Combi option enables operators to transport nine passengers and cargo simultaneously. Deliveries of Cessna SkyCourier passenger units with the Combi option included are scheduled to commence later this year. The aircraft is highly adaptable and can easily adjust configurations to effectively complete virtually any mission, supporting a significant return on investment.
Eve Air Mobility and Saudia Technic Sign MOA
Eve Air Mobility and Saudia Technic announced signature of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to explore the potential demand of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the region. The agreement includes eVTOL MRO training and the evaluation of the infrastructure requirements and processes for the potential reassembly of Eve’s eVTOL in Saudi Arabia. With letters of intent for nearly 3,000 eVTOLs, Eve is poised to significantly impact the advanced air mobility industry globally.
SAS Airlines leases Airbus A320neo from ACG
Aviation Capital Group (ACG) announced the delivery of one new Airbus A320neo aircraft on long-term lease to Scandinavian Airlines . This aircraft is the last scheduled to deliver to the airline as part of a 12-aircraft sale-leaseback transaction between ACG and SAS.
