Southwest Airlines orders 108 Boeing 737-7 Max aircraft
Air Lease Corporation leases Lease Two Boeing 737-8s to LOT Polish Airlines
Air Lease Corporation announced long-term lease placements for two new Boeing 737-8 aircraft with LOT Polish Airlines for delivery in 2024. Air Lease Corporation Executive Chairman Steven F. Udvar-Házy said “We are pleased to further expand our long-term relationship with LOT by leasing the airline an additional two new 737-8 jet aircraft. ALC has played an important strategic role in LOT’s fleet modernization program, as LOT’s largest lessor, and these 737-8s will further enhance the airline’s fleet and network capabilities with new fuel-efficient narrowbody aircraft.”
Alaska Airlines announces new routes
Alaska Airlines announced two new routes from its Anchorage bas to New York JFK (13 Jun24) operating daily and San Diego (18 May24) operating weekly operated by Boeing 737-8 and Boeing 737NG aircraft. Alaska Airlines Regional Vice President Marilyn Romano said “Alaskans love nonstop flights to and from the state. We like having great travel options and adding places such as New York and San Diego definitely fit the bill. During our peak summer days, we’ll have a robust flight schedule of 63 departures a day from Anchorage.”
SkyWest Orders 19 Embraer E175 Aircraft
SkyWest announced an order for 19 70 seat Embraer E175 Aircraft in a contract valued at $1.1billion, based on list price, with deliveries to commence in 2024Q4. The aircraft will be operated on United Airlines route network under a Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA). SkyWest President and CEO Chip Childs said, “SkyWest is already the largest E175 operator in the world, and when this order is delivered, we will have over 250 E175s. We look forward to continuing to improve the passenger flying experience with enhanced comfort and reliability.”

Southwest Airlines announced carrier is increasing its commitment to the Boeing MAX family with an order for 108 Boeing 737-7s. The 737-7 with a capacity of 172 passengers is capable of flying up to 3,800 nautical miles opening new city pair opportunities. Southwest Airlines President & CEO Bob Jordan said "We have a long history with Boeing, dating back more than 50 years to the day we commenced service with three Boeing 737 aircraft serving three cities. They're part of our history and part of our future as we continue to recognize the many efficiencies and cost savings of a single fleet."
