United Airlines positioned to become the largest Boeing 787 operator
Air Canada orders 18 Boeing 787-10s
Air Canada announced the carrier is selected the 787 Dreamliner to further modernize and grow its fleet with an order for 18 787-10 widebody jets, with a further 12 options to call as part of its strategy to reduce emissions and expand its global network. Air Canada CEO & President Michael Rousseau said "Air Canada has made investing in the passenger experience a core priority. Our experience shows customers greatly enjoy flying on the Dreamliner, so we are pleased to offer them a larger version of this popular aircraft, which will premiere a new, state-of-the-art interior cabin design. As importantly, the 787 is highly fuel efficient and will generate operational savings as well as support our sustainability goals of reducing emissions.”
Spirit AeroSystems enters Vietnam market
Spirit AeroSystems announced the signing of a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul service agreement through its subsidiaries with Vietnam Airlines subsidiary Vietnam Engineering Limited Company (VAECO) enabling the company to enter the fast growing Vietnam market, the establishment of VAECO will achieve its long-term growth ambitions. Spirt Aftermarket Services senior vice president, Kailash Krishnaswamy said “We expect the supply of materials to continue to disrupt Airframe MRO. Under this strategic collaboration, Spirit will bring its world-class engineering support to alleviate at least some of this pain.”

United Airlines announced the carrier is expanding its 787 Dreamliner fleet, exercising options to order 50 787-9 aircraft, and securing an additional 50 options. The new Dreamliner order provides United additional flexibility as the airline modernizes its global fleet over the next decade replacing existing aircraft types. United is positioned to become the largest 787 operator in the world. United operates 70 Boeing 787-8/9/10 aircraft with 150 firm orders. United CEO Scott Kirby said "We're building a bright future at United, and this order takes our already successful United Next plan into the next decade and beyond. Our planning and focus on the long term have helped us surge past other airlines that stood still. I'm convinced our strategy is the right one as we continue to add new, larger aircraft to take full advantage of our growing flying opportunities both internationally and domestically."
Universal Hydrogen Celebrates 250th Order
Universal Hydrogen announced a significant commercial milestone when an order from an unnamed customer , pushing the total order book for its regional product to 250 aircraft. The company stated its currently definitizing agreements with its launch customers, including securing firm hydrogen offtake agreements and guaranteed hydrogen pricing that is expected to deliver equivalent or superior unit economics to airline customers. Universal Hydrogen Chief Commercial Officer Rod Williams said “This symbolic milestone places our order book for aircraft conversion well north of $1 billion, with nearly half the orders including deposits or cancellation penalties. This also translates to over $2 billion in fuel services revenue over our first ten years of operation.”

WestJet Cargo announce the launch of new cargo route from Toronto Pearson to Havana, Cuba, operating weekly using Boeing 737-800(F) to meet growing demand for cargo between Canada and Cuba.
