Aircastle Announces Placement of Airbus A321 with Nordwind Airlines Aircastle announced the successful placement of an Airbus A321 aircraft on lease to Nordwind Airlines. The Company expressed its appreciation for its strong relationship with Nordwind and looks forward to further collaboration with the airline in the future. JetBlue Grows International Presence with Expanded Service in Havana and Mexico City JetBlue announced it is expanding its presence in Havana and Mexico City with three new routes and more flights from the airline’s northeast and south Florida focus cities (a). JetBlue will offer New England’s first non-stop service to Cuba with flights on Saturdays between Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) and Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport (HAV) beginning November 10, 2018. JetBlue will further expand service to Cuba with up to three daily flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Havana on Sundays through Fridays beginning November 11, 2018. The new service is the result of frequencies granted to the airline by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The routes are subject to government approval. United Airlines Increases to Daily Service Between Houston and Havana United Airlines today announced it is increasing service between Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Havana's José Martí International Airport beginning July 20. Subject to government approval, United will operate the new daily service with either Boeing 737-800 mainline aircraft or Embraer E175 regional aircraft operated by Mesa Airlines as United Express. U.S. and UAE settle long-running open skies debate The U.S. and UAE governments have reached an agreement to resolve the years-long debate surrounding open skies policies between the two countries and alleged government subsidies. The deal, expected to be formally announced on Monday, resembles an agreement reached with Qatar in January and will not amend the U.S.-UAE open skies agreement, which according to both sides has created “many benefits” and are an important part of the two countries’ “vibrant” commercial and economic relations.
