Aeromexico and Delta to offer new Detroit-Leon route
Delta Air Lines and its partner Aeromexico, Mexico's global airline, will launch new nonstop service between Detroit and Leon, Mexico, beginning April 30. The new route will be operated by Aeromexico using Embraer 190 aircraft with 99 passenger seats, including 11 in Class Premier.
Aviation Capital Group Takes Delivery of its First Boeing 787 Dreamliner
Aviation Capital Group LLC announced 21 February it has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Everett, Washington. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9, is on a long-term lease to EL AL Israel Airlines, and is the first of two Boeing 787-9’s to be delivered from ACG’s orderbook and leased to EL AL Israel Airlines. The second aircraft is scheduled to deliver this fall.
Avocet Aviation Services announces second facility at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport
Avocet Aviation Services LLC. is set to begin maintenance operations at its second maintenance facility located at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. The FAA granted Avocet Aviation operational approval for the 26,000 square foot facility on December 22, 2017, after concluding its lease agreement with the airport earlier that month. The new facility, which will accommodate multiple narrow-body aircraft both within and outside the hangar, will complement Avocet’s existing MRO facility located at Orlando-Sanford International Airport.
Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC and Boeing enter a new stage of cooperation
At the invitation of Azerbaijan Airlines, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Commerical Airplanes, Kevin McAllister arrived in Baku on February 22. During the negotiations, the parties expressed satisfaction with the strong partnership relations that have developed during the long-term cooperation between Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC and Boeing Corporation.
GE Aviation Opens World-Class Pneumatics Laboratory
GE Aviation, Rockford commissioned a world-class facility that enables the company to test jet engine components under a full range of temperatures, pressures and other conditions. The Advanced Engineering Pneumatics Test Laboratory, know as AdEPT, represents a $13 Million investment, and will help fuel continued growth at the Rockford plant.

PSA Airlines Appoints Loudmareddy Gumireddy as Vice President of Operations Planning and Performance
PSA Airlines has appointed Loudmareddy Gumireddy “Reddy” as Vice President of Operations Planning and Performance, reporting to Dion Flannery, President of PSA Airlines. In this role, Reddy will be part of the airline’s executive team and will be responsible for overseeing the management of Flight Operational Resources including Crew Planning, Crew Resources, and Dispatch.
