Air India to establish Flying Training Organisation (FTO)
Air India is establishing outh Asia’s largest Flying Training Organisation (FTO) at Amravati in Maharashtra as part of an initiative by the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC). The Air India FTO will have 31 single-engine aircraft and 3 twin-engine aircraft for training will be operational by FY26Q1 and will target to graduate 180 commercial pilots every year. Air India CEO & MD Campbell Wilson, said “The FTO at Amravati will be a significant step towards making Indian aviation more self-reliant and offering more opportunities to the youth in India to fulfill their ambitions of flying as pilots. The young pilots coming out of this FTO will fuel Air India’s ambition of becoming a world-class airline, as it moves ahead in its transformation journey.”
IndiGo announces new route
IndiGo announced a new route connecting Mumbai and Vijayawada commencing 16 August operating daily. The carrier will now operate 130 weekly flights from Vijayawada to 8 cities in India serving as a gateway connecting Western India to Vijayawada, which is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in India. IndiGo Head of Global Sales, Mr. Vinay Malhotra said, “We are pleased to introduce direct flights between Mumbai and Vijayawada, which would bolster trade, tourism, and business in the respective states. As Vijayawada ascends as a key commercial and cultural hub in Andhra Pradesh, this new air link with Mumbai will provide improved connectivity, & economic opportunities as well as enhance direct access to the rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks in these cities
Vistara enhances passenger experience
Vistara announced an enhanced passenger experience by adding popular regional flavours to its onboard menu to its inflight dining experience celebrating India's diverse culinary heritage and also enhanced the in-flight meals for its business class customers on long-haul Boeing 787-9 aircraft. In addition also revamped its amenity kits onboard for customers flying Business Class and Premium Economy cabins onboard Airbus A321Neo and Boeing 787 aircraft.
