Air India announces new Mumbai-Melbourne route
Air India announced the launch of a new route from its Mumbai base to Melbourne operating three times weekly from 15th December where the Indian community is estimated at over 200,000 people in the state of Victoria. A large new market for visiting family and friends. Air India Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer Nipun Aggarwal said “We look forward to launching the only non-stop flight between Mumbai and Melbourne. This is a great step forward in our ongoing transformation programme, which among other aspects aims at connecting India to more of the world with non-stop flights. We are excited to showcase the positively changing Air India flying experience to travellers on this route, of which great Indian hospitality will remain a cornerstone.”
IndiGo expands Turkish Airlines codeshare partnership
IndiGo announced the expansion of codeshare connections with Turkish Airlines at its Istanbul hub to Helsinki, Oslo, and Stockholm, increasing access to a total of 42 destinations. IndiGo Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra said “We’re excited to unveil extended codeshare connections to Helsinki, Stockholm as well as Oslo via Istanbul, strengthening our ties with Turkish Airlines even further. Starting November 23, customers will have access to 42 diverse destinations beyond Istanbul, across Europe, North Africa & the US. Our collaboration addresses specific travel needs – Helsinki caters to the surging demand from Indian students and professionals in Finland, while Stockholm and Oslo open gateways for cultural exchange and bolstering economic ties with Sweden and Norway respectively.”
Vistara launches Mumbai-Frankfurt route
Vistara commenced a new non-stop six weekly flights between Mumbai and Frankfurt on 15th November operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan said, “Sensing a need for an Indian airline offering world-class experience and connecting to long-haul destinations in Europe from Mumbai; we started 5x direct flights to London Heathrow. We are now delighted to start 6x weekly service to Frankfurt as our second European destination from India’s financial capital. We are confident that our customers will appreciate and prefer flying with India’s finest airline when planning to travel on this route.”
