WestJet expands leased Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet

Pivot Holding Company Canada Inc. acquires Pivot Airlines

Pivot Holding Company Canada Inc announced the acquisition of Pivot Airlines (Pivot) from Binder Capital Corporation.cPivot Airlines has received the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) Advanced Status Canadian Determination, authorizing the transfer of 100% of Pivot shares from Binder Capital Corporation to Pivot Holding Company Canada Inc., a new ownership structure. Pivot’s existing DHC 8-100, and CRJ200 ACMI and charter operations will scale up with the addition of three aircraft provided by Alberta Aviation Capital Corporation (AAC) of Calgary, Alberta. The carrier is also in the process of adding the DHC8-400 aircraft to its Transport Canada certificate.

 

Sun Country Airlines extends Amazon contract to 2030

Sun Country Airlines announced signature of an Amended and Restated Air Transport Services Agreement with Amazon, extending the contract through 2030 with options to further extend the terms through 2037.The amended agreement, Sun Country will add eight additional Boeing 737-800 cargo aircraft beginning in early 2025. Sun Country Airlines CEO Jude Bricker, said “Amazon is an extremely important customer to Sun Country and strong execution on our current cargo services positioned us well to grow our business. We look forward to continuing to provide services to Amazon into the 2030s.”

 

UrbanLink Air Mobility Appointment

UrbanLink Air Mobility LLC (UrbanLink) announced the appointment of Raymond C Sisson as President. UrbanLink will lead the entry into service and management of AAM in South Florida, and will expand to other markets, including Los Angeles and the Caribbean. As President, Sisson will focus on raising capital to finance UrbanLink’s initial order for 20 Lilium Jets and the creation of an in-house aircraft leasing company to hold UrbanLink’s aircraft orders. UrbanLink Raymond C Sisson said “I am excited to join UrbanLink as President as we prepare for our first eVTOL deliveries in 18 months. To fuel UrbanLink’s growth, our goal is to raise over $1 billion, and I am confident we have the team in place to achieve this.”

 

WestJet expands leased Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet

The WestJet Group announced it will acquire two additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, one from Aviation Capital Group (ACG) and one from High Ridge Aviation, to be integrated into the airline's operations in 2024 in addition to three Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in partnership with BOC Aviation Limited and one Boeing 737 MAX 8 with AerDragon. WestJet Group, Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Mike Scott said "In partnership with Aviation Capital Group and High Ridge Aviation, we are thrilled to add these aircraft to our Boeing 737 MAX family, as we further reaffirm our mission of providing affordable air travel to Canadians."
