Acumen’s Take

On Air India Express’ 100th Aircraft Milestone

Air India Express’ rapid fleet expansion underscores the airline’s successful transformation post-privatisation. The addition of fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX aircraft not only enhances operational efficiency but also aligns with India’s growing aviation demand. This milestone further cements Air India Express as a key player in the regional and international low-cost carrier (LCC) segment.

On Air India-Air New Zealand Codeshare Agreement

The MoU between Air India and Air New Zealand marks a strategic effort to enhance connectivity between the two regions. This partnership has the potential to boost passenger traffic and streamline travel between India and New Zealand. While a direct flight remains a long-term goal, this collaboration strengthens Air India’s Star Alliance ties and positions it for future expansion into underserved markets.

On IndiGoStretch’s Expansion

IndiGo’s launch of IndiGoStretch highlights its commitment to catering to premium travellers while maintaining its low-cost model. The service differentiates IndiGo from competitors by offering an upgraded experience without transitioning to a full-service airline. With increased demand for comfortable domestic travel, IndiGo’s move to enhance passenger experience could reinforce customer loyalty and increase its market share.
