Air Asia increases connectivity between India and Malaysia

Air Asia commenced a new route between Kuala Lumpur International and Lucknow operating three times weekly, the carrier’s 16th direct route to India, using Airbus A320 aircraft, increasing connectivity between India and Malaysia.

 

Air India becomes first Indian carrier to implement NDC

Air India, made history becoming the first Indian carrier to implement the integration of New Distribution Capability (NDC), the latest technology in airline distribution. The carrier has adopted the latest 21.3 schema of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), transforming the way its products are retailed to travel agents, travel corporations, leisure and business travellers, and other travel resellers market segments. Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal, said "Implementing NDC is a significant milestone for Air India as we continue to innovate and enhance our distribution strategy. Our goal is to provide a seamless and efficient booking experience for our travel partners and customers."

 

Fly91 Expands route network

FLY91 announced the launch of two routes effective from 31 August,on the Goa-Pune-Goa and Pune-Sindhudurg-Pune sectors on weekends. The airline plans to connect over 50 cities in the next five years, with a focus on tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India. FLY91 MD & CEO , stated Manoj Chacko, “Our goal is to enhance last-mile air connectivity in India and these new routes are a step in that direction. Connecting Goa and Sindhudurg with Pune will not only facilitate travel but also open up new opportunities for tourism and business between these regions. FLY91 is committed to starting daily connectivity between Goa and Pune, subject to availability of slots at the Pune International Airport.”

 

IndiGo enhances Kathmandu flight safety

IndiGo announced the introduction of the Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required (RNP AR) flight procedure for its operations into Kathmandu. IndiGo successfully operated the validation flight , following the clearance received, in line with the provisional approval by DGCA. The carried stated the implementation of technological advancement represents a major step forward in aviation safety and efficiency, enabling the pilots to navigate the complex terrain surrounding Kathmandu Valley with precision.

RNP AR technology is specifically engineered for airports situated in geographically challenging and high-altitude regions, such as Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). With the airport surrounded by the Himalayas. IndiGo, said, "We are proud to be the first Indian airline to implement the RNP AR procedure for operations into Kathmandu. With the implementation of the RNP AR flight procedure.”
