Air China and Turkish Airlines Launch New Codeshare Agreement

Air China and Turkish Airlines have announced a new freesale codeshare agreement, transitioning from their blocked space partnership. The codeshare between Istanbul and Beijing, this agreement marks a significant milestone in the strategic collaboration between the two airlines, setting the stage for future expansions in their strong partnership. The partnership will enhance business and travel opportunities between China and Turkey, strengthening bilateral ties

 

China Airlines selects Airbus for Airbus A350-900 cabin retrofit

Airbus announced signature of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Taiwan’s China Airlines to retrofit the airline’s A350 cabins with a new layout and state-of-the-art amenities. Under this agreement, Airbus Services will oversee the installation of China Airlines’ latest Premium Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class seats on its fleet of 15 Airbus A350-900s.

 

China Eastern Airlines and Etihad Airways announce Joint Venture (JV)

China Eastern Airlines and Etihad Airways announced the signing of a Joint Venture (JV)  to cement the strategic partnership between the two airlines. The JV will allow the airlines to jointly develop and grow the routes between UAE and China, resulting in a stronger combined network commencing in 2025 subject to regulatory approvals.

 

China Eastern Airlines Chairman Wang Zhiqing said: "This year marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE. Both countries continue to develop and strengthen the high-value, strategic collaboration on the Belt and Road Initiative, and this momentum creates opportunities and motivation for deepening cooperation between China Eastern Airlines and Etihad Airways. The signing of this JV signifies a new level of collaboration, and China Eastern is eager to work with Etihad Airways to expand the cooperation in the various business areas, and thereby enhance the strategic partnership between both airlines." 

 

Hainan Airlines restores Shenzhen to Vienna route

Hainan Airlines restored the Shenzhen to Vienna route effective 29 May operating twice weekly operated by two class Boeing 787 aircraft, following a four year suspension. Vienna Airport Joint CEO and COO Julian Jäger, said “Hainan Airlines, one of China’s most important airlines, is returning to Vienna Airport. After a four-year break, it is once again possible to take off directly to the metropolis of Shenzhen. The Far East is an important market for Vienna Airport, and the resumption of flights by Hainan Airlines is a gratifying sign for the resurgence of tourism and business in Austria and China. We are very pleased to be able to renew our good cooperation with Hainan Airlines!”.
