Air India selects Sabre GDS
Sabre Corporation and Air India announced the signing of an enhanced distribution deal that builds upon their existing partnership. Under the augmented agreement, travel agencies in India will have access to Air India's expansive domestic content through the Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) effective from 1 January 2024, offering Indian travel buyers an expanded portfolio of fares and seats to better serve their customers. Air India Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer Nipun Aggarwal said "Our collaboration with Sabre has already proven successful, which aligns perfectly with our commitment to offering convenient and accessible travel options to our guests. By joining forces with Sabre to distribute our domestic content to our domestic India market, we are further enabling travellers to explore the diverse destinations that Air India's domestic network covers and, to travel seamlessly abroad."
IndiGo welcomes Salem to network
IndiGo welcomed Salem as a new addition to its growing route network, as the 82nd domestic and 114th overall destination. Salem, the fifth largest city in Tamil Nadu state. The carrier will commence three routes from Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad to Salem. IndiGo Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra said, “We are thrilled to introduce these new routes from Salem (in Tamil Nadu) to the vibrant cities of Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. These direct routes not only provide convenient and cost-effective travel choices between these cities but also significantly reduce travel time.”
Vistara announces new Delhi to Bali connection
Vistara announced the carrier is to launch a new route from Delhi hub to Bali operating daily from 1st December using three class Airbus A321LR aircraft. In an statement Vistara said “Bali has become an increasingly sought-after holiday destination for Indians due to its accessibility, proximity, and hassle-free visa on arrival facility”.
