Akasa Air Increases Boeing 737 MAX commitment to 226 aircraft
Akasa Air and Boeing announced the carrier has placed a follow-on 737 MAX order, confirming 150 aircraft in its order book. The purchase of 737-10 aircraft and additional 737-8-200 aircraft was revealed at the Wings India 2024 airshow. Boeing stated “Akasa Air will leverage the 737 MAX family to expand its domestic and international network in the coming years.”
Akasa Air founder and CEO Vinay Dube, said “We are excited to announce this historic order for 150 new Boeing airplanes, increasing our total orders from Boeing to 226 jets. In addition to supporting our rapid domestic expansion, the efficiency and economics of these new airplanes position Akasa to launch international routes in the coming months. The lower carbon emissions of the 737 MAX family allow us to remain focused on sustainable operations, while also providing our environmentally conscious passengers with a more comfortable way to fly. Sustainability is at the core of our business, and we strive for more opportunities to reduce our impact to the environment.”
DAE leases 2 ATR 72-600 to FLY91
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) announced that it has reached an agreement with FLY91 for the lease of 2 ATR 72-600 aircraft. The aircraft are scheduled to deliver this year and are expected to be the first aircraft to enter FLY91’s fleet.

IndiGo announces new Hyderabad-Bangkok route
IndiGo announced the launch of a new route from its Hyderabad base to Bangkok commencing 26th February operating daily, becoming the first Indian carrier to connect Hyderabad to Bangkok. The carrier will operate 37 weekly sectors between India and Bangkok, and Hyderabad.
IndiGo Head of Global Sales said Vinay Malhotra said "We are extremely pleased to announce our operations from Hyderabad to Bangkok, in-line with our vision to enhance accessibility across Southeast Asia. With the introduction of this new route, IndiGo now offers 57 direct flights a week to Thailand from 6 cities in India (37 flights to Bangkok & 20 flights to Phuket). The new route not only signifies our commitment to expanding connectivity but also serves as a bridge between two culturally rich destinations.”
