Cathay Pacific celebrates new Hong Kong to Riyadh route
Cathay Pacific commenced a new non-stop service between its Hong Kong hub and Riyadh on Monday, 28 October 2024, operating three times weekly, using a three class Airbus A350-900 aircraft, featuring business, economy and premium Economy cabins.
Cathay Group Chair Patrick Healy said “The inauguration of our Hong Kong-Riyadh route is another testament to Cathay’s commitment to strengthening Hong Kong’s global connectivity as an international aviation hub, and our continued support for the Central Government’s Belt and Road Initiative. The new service further expands our footprint in the Middle East — an important region in the world — while promoting opportunities for business, trade and tourism along the Belt and Road. With the commissioning of the Three-Runway System just weeks away, Hong Kong’s aviation industry is entering an exciting new era, and we look forward to playing our part as our home hub continues to go from strength to strength.”
China Eastern Airlines Technic and Satair sign LOI
China Eastern Airlines (CES) subsidiary Eastern Airlines Technic and Satair have signed a letter of intent (LOI) to engage in discussions regarding potential collaboration. The potential collaboration will emphasise their capability to deliver a comprehensive material management service for a large scope of expendable parts, specifically to all CES’s Airbus fleets, enhancing efficiency and streamlining operations for all parties involved. The companies aim to integrate resources and expertise to optimise supply chain processes and ensure seamless material flow. China Eastern Airlines (CES), currently operates a fleet of over 450 Airbus aircraft, including the A320, A330, and A350, making it the largest Chinese Airbus operator.
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) leases four Boeing 737-8 Aircraft to Hainan Airlines
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) announced the signing of lease agreements with Hainan Airlines for four new Boeing 737-8 aircraft, scheduled for delivery 2025Q4 and 2026Q1.
Hainan Airlines CEO Yu Chaojie, said, “We appreciate DAE’s continued trust and support in Hainan Airlines. The strategic placement of these new Boeing aircraft into our fleet is an investment in our growth, and a testament to the enduring partnership we have built over time. By reducing the average age of our aircraft, the integration of these aircraft will significantly contribute to fleet modernization. We are not only enhancing our operational efficiency but also optimizing cost structure, improving fuel efficiency, and reducing maintenance costs, which are critical factors in today's competitive aviation market.
