CDB Aviation Leases Seven Aircraft to Turkish Airlines

Avolon President & CCO Paul Geaney receives Irish American Partnership Award

The Irish American Partnership has presented its 2024 New York Business Leadership award to Avolon President & Chief Commercial Officer Paul Geaney. Paul Geaney said: "I’m very grateful to the Irish American Partnership for this award, which I accept on behalf of the Avolon team, whose amazing efforts have built us into one of the world’s leading aviation finance companies. We take great pride in using our expertise, our capital and our orderbook of new aircraft to support our customer airlines in facilitating the social and economic benefits of air travel. The Partnership’s philanthropic work funding education, community development and peace initiatives in Ireland is hugely important and all involved are to be commended for their ongoing support."
 

CDB Aviation Leases Seven Aircraft to Turkish Airlines

CDB Aviation announced the signing of new lease agreements for a fleet of an additional seven narrowbody and widebody aircraft with Turkish Airlines. Under the new agreements, one used Airbus A330-343 will be delivered in May 2024 to support the expansion of Turkish’s mainline international operations, while another six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will be received between 2025 and 2026 by the carrier’s newly established subsidiary, Ajet. CDB Aviation CEO Jie Chen, said “We are delighted to continue building upon a strong and long-term partnership with our valued customer, Turkish Airlines. The 737 MAX 8 aircraft will contribute toward the airline’s stated goal for Ajet to become an important part of the low-cost aviation industry on a global scale, while the A330 will provide the increased capacity to support its ever-expanding global network.”

 

SMBC Aero Engine Lease  (SAEL)places LEAP-1A engines with IndiGo

SMBC Aero Engine Lease (SAEL) in March 2024 commenced dry operating leases of three LEAP-1A engines to IndiGo in the first lease transaction between SAEL and IndiGo. SAEL MD & CEO Roger Welaratne said “We are very pleased to welcome IndiGo with the addition of spare LEAP-1A engines. We’re elated to establish this relationship with the leading airline in the Indian skies. As India and the Indian aviation market continues to grow on an unprecedented trajectory, we look forward to growing and supporting IndiGo on the future fleet and their spare engine strategy.”


Willis Lease Finance Corporation Appoints Colm Barrington to its Board of Directors

Willis Lease Finance Corporation announce the appointment of Colm Barrington to its Board of Directors effective from 1 April 2024. Mr. Barrington has a distinguished career spanning more than 50 years in the global aviation industry. Mr. Barrington said "I'm delighted to be joining Charlie and his team at WLFC at this exciting time in the company's development. The rapid recovery from the Covid years, particularly evident in the strong 2023 financial results, allied to an increasing demand for replacement engines augurs well for growth and success in the future.
