Airbus deepens partnership with China for single aisle production Airbus has signed a new agreement with Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) to deepen industrial cooperation on Airbus single aisle production. The agreement was signed at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, in the presence of Chinese premier Li Keqiang and visiting German chancellor Angela Merkel. The cooperation with AVIC will enhance Airbus Single Aisle aircraft (A319/A320) fuselage equipping in Tianjin, China. The first delivery of a China-equipped Airbus Single Aisle aircraft (A319/A320) fuselage is scheduled in 2021Q2. Air China to Open Direct Flight Linking Ulan Bator, Hohhot A new direct flight linking Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator with Hohhot, capital city of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, will be opened on 12 September the Ulan Bator Office of Air China announced. The twice weekly service will be operated by a Boeing 737-800. "Mongolia is one of the active participating countries in China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). We hope that the new route will not only provide a new travel option for travelers of both countries, but also have a positive impact on promoting the construction of the BRI and strengthening cooperation between China and Mongolia," the airline said in a statement. Boeing and China Airlines Finalize Order for Six 777 Freighters China Airlines finalized its agreement with Boeing to order six 777 Freighters to modernize its cargo fleet. The carrier, which currently operates one of the world's largest 747 Freighter fleets, plans to transition to the largest and longest range twin-engine freighters in the industry as it launches operations from Taipei to North America, a key market that provides higher yields for the carrier. China Civil Aviation Security Technology Expo 2019 Held in Shenzhen The China Civil Aviation Security Technology Expo 2019 featuring the theme of "New Security, New Technologies" was held in Shenzhen on 29-30 August. The Expo was designed to implement the Civil Aviation Administration of China's (CAAC) strategic goal of boosting aviation security through technologies, comprehensively demonstrate the technological innovations and achievements in aviation security area in recent years, and also present itself as a gift to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. 800 professionals from International Air Transport Association, CAAC departments, airports, airlines, aviation and public security research institutes, airport design and construction firms, and technological companies attended the event. Expert seminars and discussion sessions focusing on aviation security technological innovations were also held during the event. Daxing Eyes Global Transfer Hub Status China's new US$13 billion Beijing Daxing International Airport is expected to become a vital cog in global airport transfer passenger flows and improve Beijing's standing as a major global aviation hub, industry experts said. With its centralized design and vertically stacked domestic and international departure halls, the Daxing airport will offer passengers more convenient and faster services for check-ins, transfers, security checks and baggage reclaim, said France-based ADP Ingenierie, the architectural designer of the airport. Beijing has always been seen as a major transfer point for flights to the Americas and Europe. Out of the existing passenger flows at the Beijing Capital International Airport, nearly 20 percent is for departures and transfers from Beijing, indicating the huge potential. Daxing Airport Will Be Flight Ready on Sept 15 Beijing Daxing International Airport will be qualified to handle flights on 15 September taking a big step forward toward its official opening before 30 September. The new airport, after a six-month evaluation, will soon get an operating license from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and the facility will welcome the first batch of flights soon, said Qian Yuanyuan, manager of the airport's operations management department. "In the opening ceremony of the new airport, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Air China will each send a flagship airplane to take off from the airport," she said, adding that China United Airlines, Capital Airlines and Hebei Airlines are expected to have one plane each landing at the airport. Though the specific opening date of the airport has so far not been finalized by the administration, China Southern Airlines said on Tuesday in a WeChat post attracting passengers for its first flight that the date will be around 20 September. Shandong Airlines-Sabre deal to drive intelligent retailing in China and across Asia Sabre Corporation announced that China-based carrier Shandong Airlines is the latest to select several intelligent retailing solutions from the Sabre Commercial Platform. Under this agreement, Shandong Airlines will leverage Sabre AirVision Schedule Manager and Sabre AirVision Fares Manager to drive revenue optimisation and accelerate how the airline competes in the Asian market.
