Air France Reinstates China route network

Air France announced following the lifting of China border restrictions the carrier is gradually restoring its flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle hub and China. The carrier is operating varying frequencies to Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai and plans to deploy Boeing 777-300ER capacity on the three routes effective from 1st July.

BOC Aviation appoints new Deputy COO

BOC Aviation announced the appointment of Thomas Chandler as Deputy Chief Operating Officer (COO), with effect from 30th January. BOC Aviation Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Robert Martin said “We are delighted to announce Tom’s appointment as Deputy Chief Operating Officer and look forward to leveraging his experience and capabilities. Our ability to attract such top rate external talent confirms BOC Aviation as an employer of choice within the aviation sector.”

CALC Appoints new Chief Strategy Officer

China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings announced the appointment of Mr Conrad LI as its Chief Strategy Officer  and Co-Chief Financial Officer responsible for jointly managing the Group’s strategic planning, financing, investor relations and accounting matters.  CALC Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer  Mr. Mike Poon,  said, “Mr. LI joins the Company in the right time, as the Company has been making remarkable achievements in its aircraft full value chain business with solid foundation laid through strategic planning, financing capability and financial management. We warmly welcome Mr. LI to join the CALC team with his comprehensive management expertise in capital market, M&A, financial management as well as investor relations from his prior positions in several listed companies and large corporations.”

Ethiopian Cargo expands China route network

Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services commenced two weekly freighter flights connecting Xiamen with São Paulo and Santiago via Addis Ababa. Ethiopian also plans to commence two weekly freighter flights between Shenzhen and Liège, deploying Boeing 777 Freighters on its growing cargo network. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr Mesfin Tasew said “We are glad to expand our reach in China adding Xiamen and Shenzhen in our global freighter network. The new cargo flights will be instrumental in facilitating cargo shipments across the world by improving air connectivity among China, Africa, Europe and South America.”

Thai Airways returns to China with five routes

Thai Airways International will operate 14 weekly flights to five destinations in  China after the country’s border reopening. The carrier will re-launch five routes from its Bangkok Hub effective to Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Kunming, and Shanghai, effective from 1st March 2023.
