Atlas Air delivers final Boeing 747-8F to Apex Logistics
The final Boeing 747-8 freighter will enter service by Apex Logistics International, a Kuehne+Nagel business, as part of the long-term charter agreement with Atlas Air, Inc., a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. The aircraft will provide dependable service, shorter travel times, and greater efficiencies for customers on choppy trade routes. John Dietrich, president, and chief executive officer of Atlas Air Worldwide, stated, "We are thrilled to operate this aircraft on behalf of Apex Logistics, a Kuehne+Nagel firm. As part of our long-term strategic cooperation with Kuehne+Nagel, this is the second 747-8F delivery, which demonstrates our dedication to offering more capacity for their growing air freight network.”
Aviation Capital Group Announces Delivery of One Boeing 737-9 MAX to Copa Airlines
Aviation Capital Group announced the delivery of one new Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft on long-term lease to Copa Airlines. This Boeing 737 MAX aircraft is the final aircraft to deliver to the airline as part of a multiple-aircraft sale-and-lease back transaction between ACG and Copa Airlines.
Aviation Capital Group (ACG) Delivers one Airbus A321neo to Frontier Airlines
Frontier Airlines has received a brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft under a long-term lease, according to an announcement from Aviation Capital Group. This is the first of seven A321neo aircraft from ACG's order book with Airbus that are slated to be delivered to the airline and are powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines.
Boeing, Atlas Air Celebrate Delivery of Final 747
Thousands of people, including present and past employees, clients, and suppliers, came together to commemorate the delivery of the final 747-8F to Atlas, capping more than 50 years of production. Over the course of the program, the factory manufactured 1,574 different aircraft, including the 747SP, 747-100,200,300,400,400F, -8, and -8f. Boeing Commercial Airplanes President & CEO Stan Deal said, "This monumental day is a testament to the generations of Boeing employees who brought to life the airplane that 'shrank the world,' and revolutionized travel and air cargo as the first widebody. It is fitting to deliver this final 747-8 Freighter to the largest operator of the 747, Atlas Air, where the 'Queen' will continue to inspire and empower innovation in air cargo."
Boom Supersonic Starts Overture Superfactory Construction
In Greensboro, North Carolina, Boom Supersonic started constructing their Overture Superfactory. Modern manufacturing facility The Overture Superfactory is situated on a 62-acre property at Piedmont Triad International Airport. The final production line, testing facility, and customer delivery center for Boom's flagship supersonic airliner, Overture, will all be located at this location. According to analysts in North Carolina, the state's economy will increase by at least $32.3 billion over the next 20 years.
GA Telesis’ Flight Solutions Group Continues USM Market Growth Following a PW4168 Engine Disassembly
GA Telesis announced the disassembly of a Pratt & Whitney 4168 Engine to begin the new year. The engine is a part of a lease return pool sourced from the Company's Asset Transaction Group. It will be managed by GAT's Flight Solutions Group (FSG) for disassembly and redistribution. This inventory will add to an already unparalleled independent USM inventory with additional teardown activity scheduled for the group to hit a record 100 assets for the year 2023.
