CDB Aviation Agrees to Lease Additional Six A321neos to Wizz Air CDB Aviation announced an extension of the company’s relationship with Wizz Air with an additional sale and leaseback transaction for a batch of six Airbus A321neo aircraft. Wizz Air is expected to receive four A321neos in the fourth quarter of 2021, with the remaining two slated for the second quarter of 2022. CDB Aviation’s Head of Europe Paul Boyle said “We are very pleased that the Wizz Air team has again elected to turn to our platform for the financing of these additional aircraft in the sale and leaseback channel.” China's civil aviation industry expands recovery China's civil aviation sector continued to recover in September, with airports seeing flights return to more than 90% of the volume registered in the same period last year, an industry report shows. Chinese airports handled a total of 375,300 outbound flights last month, down 6.86 percent compared to the previous year, but up 1.6% month on month, according to a report released by VariFlight. The report shows the number of domestic flights rose year on year in September, while the number of international flights increased slightly compared to August. Dufry and Alibaba Form A Joint Venture in China Alibaba Group and Dufry AG (Dufry) enter into a collaboration to jointly explore and invest in opportunities in China to develop the travel retail business and to enhance Dufry’s digital transformation. The parties will incorporate a Joint Venture (JV) owned 51% by Alibaba Group and 49% by Dufry. Alibaba will bring in its established network in China and its digital capabilities. Dufry will contribute to the JV its existing travel retail business in China, and will support the JV with its supply chain and strong operational skills. Shanghai’s City airports handle 2 million travellers Shanghai’s Hongqiao and Pudong airports received a record number of domestic flights and travellers during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Over 2 million domestic travellers departed or arrived at the airports between September 30 and October 7, a 17% increase on last year, said the Shanghai Airport Authority in an statement. The number of domestic flights at the two airports increased by 22% year on year with nearly 14,000 takeoffs and landings during the holiday. Sino Jet opens FBO at Nanchang Changbei International Airport Sino Jet has entered a strategic partnership with the Jiangxi Airport VIP Service Company to build and manage the first fixed-base operator facility (FBO) at Nanchang Changbei International Airport. According to the Review of China’s Aviation Industry Development and Market Outlook Forecast Report (2020-2026), China’s business aviation sector is the most likely global market to achieve growth in the next six years and is expected to expand to become a top-three global business jet market by 2026.
