AEI adds HAECO Xiamen as authorized AEI Conversion Center Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) announced that it has selected Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited, also known as HAECO Xiamen, as an authorized AEI Conversion Center. HAECO Xiamen’s first AEI conversion, a B737-800SF, is scheduled to commence in January 2021. This will be followed by an additional line starting in April 2021.

ATRAN Airlines expands its Chinese coverage amid growing e-commerce volumes

ATRAN Airlines has expanded its network with bringing Shijiazhuang (China) into its network. The carrier intends to operate the flights on a weekly basis to Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow (Russia) where it is based. The maiden flight, which was operated on the 8^th of August, lifted almost 15 tons of e-commerce-related consolidated cargo. ATRAN is planning to deploy both types of its freighters – Boeing 737-400SF and Boeing 737-800BCF. CAAC introduces new policy on airport slot allocation for cargo flights   China has adopted a new policy on airport slot allocation for cargo flights to boost the country's air logistics industry. It is the first slot allocation policy specifically designed for cargo flights, and will be implemented starting from Oct. 25, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The new policy is aimed at increasing the daily utilization of cargo airplanes and airport facilities, improving China's international air cargo capacity, and strengthening the competitiveness of its aviation logistics sector. China Aircraft Leasing reports HK$332m profit China Aircraft Leasing  announced that first-half net profit was up by 6.1% to HK$332 million as revenue fell by 2.4% to HK$1.64 billion. The group delivered seven aircraft and disposed of four aircraft. All aircraft to be delivered in the next 18 months have been mandated. China Presses Ahead with Airport Infrastructure Boom  China continues to buck the trend with a surge of new airport development projects across the mainland. The country completed and put into service 12 new airports since work on them resumed in March, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said in a press briefing on Thursday. Officials expect a 13th airport—Ankang Fuqiang Aiport in Shaanxi province—to open in October, while construction of Wulong Xiannushan Airport in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality nears completion. Meanwhile, the enlarged Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport reopened on August 3. Considered one of the key supporting airports for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the airport boasts a new terminal, apron, and an extended runway, and can now accommodate up to 1 million passengers a year, from 600,000 previously. HK airport to reopen as transit hub for passengers from China Passengers will be allowed to transit via Hong Kong International Airport from mainland China until 15 October, offering a minor boost to beleaguered Cathay Pacific Airways. The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) confirmed a temporary plan to resume transfer services from, but not to, the mainland, as Chinese aviation authorities continued to severely limit international travel to restrict imported cases of Covid-19. The AAHK reiterated its transit rule arrangements that passengers needed to have flights booked on one ticket, receive boarding passes for all trips at check-in and bags checked through to their final destination.
