BOC Aviation Delivers Four New Airbus A320CEO Aircraft To Loong Air BOC Aviation announced 14 December the delivery of three new Airbus A320CEO aircraft to Chinese carrier Zhejiang Loong Airlines this week, as part of a five-aircraft A320CEO lease placement to Loong Air from the Company’s orderbook, under which one was delivered in October 2017. BOC Aviation Delivers New Boeing 737-800 Aircraft To T’way Air BOC Aviation announced 17 December the delivery of a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to a new customer, T’way Air to augment T’way’s fleet of aircraft. The aircraft is from the Company’s order book. Bohai Capital announces that Directors and Senior Management of its largest shareholder, HNA Group, will increase their shareholdings reflecting confidence in the prospects for the Bohai business Bohai Capital announced 14 December that all 11 Directors of HNA Group, including Mr. Chen Feng and Mr. Wang Jian, and the executive team of HNA Capital, the controlling shareholder of Bohai Capital, and Bohai itself intend to increase their shareholdings in Bohai Capital by a total 86.7 million RMB, through the secondary market over the next three months. The decision to invest personally in Bohai Capital reflects the confidence of HNA, its Board and management team in the performance of and prospects for the Company. In the first nine months of 2017, Bohai Capital delivered 58% year-on-year growth in net income. CDB Aviation Delivers First of Two New A321-200 Aircraft to Finnair CDB Aviation announced 15 December the delivery of the first of two new Airbus A321-200 aircraft on long-term lease to the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland, Finnair (HEX:FIA1S). The aircraft are part of the carrier’s fleet growth plans and are expected to support the increase in capacity in feeder traffic to support the previously announced expansion in long-haul capacity. Configured with 209 seats, the first aircraft will support the need for increasing the airline’s route capacity during the winter season 2017/2018, with the second aircraft being planned for delivery to support the summer season of 2018. China Conducts Drone-aircraft Collision Tests China's CAAC recently conducted aircraft-drone collision tests between the forward section—principally the windshield and radome—of an airliner and a tethered light DJI drone. The tests were carried out jointly with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute. China's Wuhan To Receive Second Genav Airport China has begun construction of another general aviation airport in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Provence, in the center of the country. With a plot of land occupying approximately 75 acres, Caidian General Aviation Airport, named after the city’s Caidian district, will serve the pilot training community, as well as provide support for low-altitude sightseeing, aircraft flight testing and emergency rescue and air patrol services, according to local officials. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2018, with the airport entering service the following year. Deer Jet makes history with maiden Antarctic landing Deer Jet made history by becoming the first Chinese private jet operator to fly from China to the Antarctic. The arrival of one the company's private jet at Wolfs Fang airport marks a new charter service between China and the Antarctic. Deer Jet's Antarctic landing is a more than a milestone for China's business aviation. This operation is also a significant contribution for the development of international air travel and transportation, providing access to the world's most remote areas. Korea Investment buys China Airlines-leased aircraft for $165 million Korea Investment & Securities Co. Ltd. has acquired a Boeing aircraft leased by Taiwan-based China Airlines for around $165 million which may signal domestic investors’ return to the aviation financing market in more than a half year. The purchase of Boeing 777-300ER from Aviation Capital Group (ACG), a leading aircraft leasing company, marked the first investment by a South Korean investor in an airplane leased to a Taiwanese airline. Star Alliance, Air China and BCIA inks joint cooperation accord In an interesting development, Star Alliance, Air China and Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently in Beijing. According to report, the MoU is aimed at establishing Beijing Capital International Airport as a leading hub and transfer airport, besides significantly enhance the future customer experience.
