It’s a matter of mutually convenient schedule to commence air service negotiations between the countries,” she said. Giving certain hint about Philippines Airlines resuming its Delhi-Manila service, the Ambassador said that there is “interest being shown” by certain airlines to “resume services”. “If that happens it will be a big boost to our tourism and our tourism promotions in the Indian market.” AirAsia India to expand fleet, add more routes on rising travel demand AirAsia's Indian venture is expanding its fleet and routes as the budget carrier hopes to turn in a profit next fiscal year amid a surge in air traffic in the world's fastest-growing aviation market. To operate international flights, an airline needs a fleet of at least 20 aircraft, according to Indian rules. AirAsia, Asia's largest budget carrier, currently operates a fleet of 14 Airbus A320 planes in India, which it plans to increase to 20 by the first quarter of 2019 Aviation pioneer GR Gopinath makes comeback with Air Deccan After staying away from the action for almost three years, G.R. Gopinath, the pioneer of low-cost aviation in India, is making another comeback. His latest venture, Air Deccan, is all set to commence operations on Mumbai-Nashik route. Air Deccan is one of the five airlines who had bid for the government subsidies under the first phase of the UDAN scheme in April this year. The carrier was awarded 34 routes by the aviation ministry under RCS (regional connectivity scheme), and it plans to operate 19-seater Beechcraft 1900D. Haryana signs MoU with AAI to develop Hisar airport as aviation hub In an effort boost aviation sector in the state, the Haryana government on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for development of an international aviation hub at Hisar. Ashok Sangwan signed the MOU on behalf of Haryana, head of business management Anil Kumar Gupta was the AAI signatory. The development has taken place after detailed study of various projects or models in the country and the impact on grass root development of the Rohtak-Hisar-Sirsa region by 2030. India, Poland to join hands to boost civil aviation India and Poland are signing an MoU for cooperation in civil aviation, according to an India Times report. The five-year agreement is aimed at bringing the two countries into recognition of the mutual benefits of cooperation, especially in improving regional air connectivity in India. India's Tata to manufacture Leap engine components General Electric (GE) has partnered with Indian conglomerate Tata Sons to manufacture CFM International Leap engine components in India. The deal was signed between GE and Tata on 29 November, but was only announced on 14 December. Through a strategic partnership, GE Aviation and a Tata subsidiary, Tata Advanced Systems (TASL), will work together in the manufacturing, assembling, integration, as well as the testing of aircraft components. A centre of excellence will also be established in India to develop an ecosystem for aircraft engine manufacturing and build its related capabilities.
