BOC Aviation Announces Contract Award To SIAEC For Aircraft Heavy Maintenance BOC Aviation announced that it has awarded a contract to SIA Engineering Company to conduct heavy maintenance projects on widebody aircraft that it will transition to new customers in 2022. It represents an extension of last year’s successfully completed mandate for support in transitioning narrowbody aircraft. The 2022 work will be carried out at SIAEC’s main base in Singapore and at SIA Engineering (Philippines) Corporation, its wholly-owned subsidiary located in Clark, Philippines. CDB Aviation Advances A330 P2F Strategy with New Conversion Order and Freighter Introduction in China CDB Aviation announced detailed new developments in its A330 passenger-to-freighter (“A330 P2F”) strategy and related commercial activity. CDB Aviation committed to an additional twelve conversions with EFW, expanding its A330 P2F fleet to fourteen aircraft. Moreover, the lessor is on pace to launch the A330-300 P2F freighter type in China in 2022, with lease commitments from Sichuan Airlines and Jiangxi Cargo Airlines. The lessor will become the largest lessor of EFW-converted A330 P2Fs, with a total of fourteen aircraft in its fleet. China Airlines extends contract with Lufthansa Technik for six years China Airlines announced the extension of its the Total Component Support (TCS) contract with Lufthansa Technik for another six years minimum. The agreement covers component support for the Airbus A330 fleet comprising of 23 aircraft. Lufthansa Technik also  provides component services for their Airbus A350 fleet, including simulator components as well as Auxiliary Power Units. China to step up support for civil aviation in 2022 China will suspend the prepayment of value-added tax (VAT) on air transport firms throughout 2022. To increase financial support for the construction of civil aviation infrastructure, the central government will continue to subsidize air routes, airports and safety capacity building projects through an aviation development fund, according to the National Development and Reform Commission. Sichuan Airlines to receive 1st A330 converted freighters built in China CBD Aviation announced it will lease two retrofitted A330-300s to Chengdu-based Sichuan Airlines, are expected to deliver the reconfigured aircraft in late 2022 and the middle of 2023.
