AG600 amphibious plane makes successful water-based test flight China's first domestically made large amphibious aircraft, the AG600, successfully made its first water-based test flight Saturday morning in Jingmen, Central China's Hubei Province, with experts predicting the aircraft to cover the entire South China Sea with its far-reaching rescue and monitoring capabilities. Boeing Delivers First 787-9 Dreamliner to Juneyao Airlines Boeing delivered the first 787-9 Dreamliner for Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines. The new, super-efficient Dreamliner will also be the first widebody commercial jet operated by a privately-held Chinese airline. In introducing the 787, the carrier is looking to expand its international network and increase flights to Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea. Comac Speeds ARJ21 Production, Readies Flight Deck Redesign Comac is ramping up production to complete an additional seven ARJ21-700 regional jets by year-end, bringing the total number to 15, against a backdrop of political pressure to raise China’s profile as a global aerospace contender. Genghis Khan Airlines Inks Deal for Chinese-Made Aircraft Fleet Genghis Khan Airlines mainly operates from Hohhot Baita International Airport and was approved for operations in March by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). To meet the transportation needs of passengers throughout Inner Mongolia, the airline hopes to build a fleet of 25 ARJ21 aircraft operating 60 services to 40 destinations in five years, with additional plans to expand to 50 planes operating 150 services in 80 locations in eight years. Hainan Airlines Announces New Direct Service to Oslo Hainan Airlines is opening a direct route between the Chinese capital Beijing and Oslo airport in the spring of 2019, with three weekly departures operated by an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Mr. LIU Jichun, Vice President of Hainan Airlines said “The coming new route of Beijing to Oslo is the first direct route between China and Norway operated by Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines. These efforts have gained Hainan Airlines with an optimized network between China and Europe. This new route will certainly intensify the communications between the two countries, thus stimulating the development of a prosperous economic tie for China and Norway, as well as the Nordic region”. Hainan Airlines connects Vienna with Shenzhen Hanian Airlines has launched a new route between Vienna and Shenzhen operating twice weekly with Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Norbert Kettner, Director of the Vienna Tourism Board said “China is already Vienna’s second biggest overseas market, with 440,000 overnight stays and a growth rate of 34% in the year 2017. The Vienna metropolitan area was already the third most popular city destination of Chinese guests in Europe, surpassed only by London and Paris. Vienna is a well-established brand in China, and the new flight service to Hainan opens up a new chapter in this success story”. Sino Jet Achieves IS-BAO Level 3 Accreditation Hong Kong and Beijing-based Sino Jet has become the first Chinese operator to be accredited as IS-BAO Level 3 by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC). Sino Jet has operating bases in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Zhuhai, and Chengdu. Level 3 registration is the highest achievable in what has been a five-year, performance-based assessment focusing on Sino Jet’s safety management system.
