AerCap Delivers First New A320neo to Qingdao Airlines AerCap announced 24 October the delivery of the first Pratt & Whitney powered Airbus A320neo aircraft, on long-term operating lease to new customer, Qingdao Airlines. AirAsia enhances connectivity to China with new Manila -Shenzhen route AirAsia is expanding further into China with the introduction of its latest direct flights between Manila and Shenzhen starting 1 December. AirAsia Philippines CEO Dexter Comendador said, “We are delighted to offer new and exciting places to visit this coming Christmas season. Travelers from Manila would be delighted to experience Shenzhen’s modern metropolis and marvel at the world’s largest electric bus fleet, massive malls, contemporary buildings and amusement parks.” Boeing Zhoushan project to deliver first airplane in December Boeing's 737 Completion and Delivery Center in Zhoushan, a coastal city in eastern China's Zhejiang province, will deliver its first plane in 737 family in December. "It is the first time that Boeing has extended the 737 production facilities overseas. The upcoming delivery also marks the first time Boeing has delivered an aircraft at an overseas site," said John Bruns, president of Boeing China. The newly-completed 737 aircraft will be delivered to Air China. Etihad Aviation Group to widen cooperation with Chinese companies via comprehensive offerings Etihad Aviation Group (EAG), a diversified global aviation and travel group headquartered in Abu Dhabi, today debuts its engaging and multifunctional booth under the theme of “Embracing China, Expanding Partnership” at the First China International Import Expo (CIIE) at the National Exhibition and Conventional Centre in Shanghai. The CIIE, the biggest import trade show in China, which is being held from 5th to 10th November. HNA Group looks to sell Lucky Air to China Eastern Airlines and a local asset regulator China’s HNA Group is in talks to sell a 60% stake in subsidiary Lucky Air to China Eastern Airlines, the first formal divestment of one of its core domestic aviation businesses. The remaining 40% stake will be sold to Yunnan Sasac, Yunnan’s state-owned asset regulator. Liebherr-Aerospace Enlarges Footprint in China Liebherr-Aerospace is continuing to expand its presence in China. The company is growing and strengthens further its support to COMAC and to the customers of the Chinese aircraft manufacturer by different measurements at its liaison and customer service center in Shanghai. New capabilities for the repair of ARJ21 components were added. Furthermore, the technical support, engineering and flight test support teams were expanded and provide enhanced support for the operation of the ARJ21 as well as for the support for the C919 flight test program. SMBC Aviation Capital cements presence in Asia with Hong Kong operation SMBC Aviation Capital announced 30 October that it has established an operating company in Hong Kong, SMBC Aviation Capital Hong Kong Limited which will cement its footprint in the region. The leading aircraft leasing group has previously had a presence in the region through an affiliated company. The decision to establish a Hong Kong operation is testament to the growth in demand for aircraft in the Asian market and the continued need to service that demand locally.
