China Southern Airlines announces new Guangzhou-Doha route
China's Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) outlines global hub ambitions
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced it plans to strengthen international connectivity and global reach of its major airports, aiming to build world-class aviation enterprises and air hubs by 2050. CAAC will boost intercontinental connectivity and global influence of the airports in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, upgrading them into world-class aviation hubs. In the tandem the CAAC will enhance passenger experience by optimizing visa and immigration policies, as well as easing customs clearance.
China and Saudi Arabia sign MoU to boost air transport
Saudi Arabia and China have announced signature of a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bolster air traffic and develop cooperative frameworks in the fields of transportation and air freight. The agreement, aimed at expanding air transportation networks and promoting air traffic between the two nations, was inked by Abdulaziz Al-Dauilej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Song Zhiyong, Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. It also includes an initial agreement to update the existing air transportation agreement between Saudi Arabia and China, with the objective of enhancing global connectivity.
China Southern Airlines announces new Guangzhou-Doha route
China Southern Airlines to launch a new route from Guangzhou to Doha, operating four weekly commencing 22nd April using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The strategic collaboration strengthens economic ties between China and Qatar, marking China Southern Airlines as Qatar Airways’ third codeshare partner in China.
Milestone Aviation Leases Sikorsky S-92 to China Southern Airlines
Milestone Aviation Group announced that it has signed a lease agreement with China Southern Airlines General Aviation for a Sikorsky S-92 helicopter. The S-92 is configured for offshore passenger transport and will be deployed on critical offshore oil and gas missions in China from CSAGA’s Zhuhai base. The Head of Emerging Markets, Milestone Aviation, Michael York, said “We are delighted to further our relationship with China Southern Airlines with the signing of this lease agreement and look forward to continuing to support them with their fleet requirements.”
