Comac C919 reaches 500,000 passenger milestone
Cathay Pacific plans wi-fi connectivity across its entire fleet by mid-2025
Cathay Pacific announced enhanced passenger experience with rollout of complimentary Wi-Fi in First and Business class, following successful trials on selected flights. The airline plans to further extend it to Cathay Diamond members travelling in all cabins in November this year. The airline plans to extend connectivity across its entire fleet by mid-2025. Cathay Pacific Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said “At Cathay Pacific, we are committed to investing in and further elevating the experience we provide for our customers. With complimentary Wi-Fi now available to customers travelling in First and Business class, and coming soon to our Cathay Diamond members, they can stay connected in the air whether travelling for business or leisure.”
China Southern Airlines operates maiden direct flight to Yerevan
China Southern Airlines operated its maiden direct flight from Urumchi-Yerevan to Yerevan with effect from 3rd September 3, served twice weekly using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The new route will significantly boost tourism, business, and cultural exchanges. Armenia Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, said "The establishment of direct flights has been a long process. Significant efforts have been made to bring this to fruition. We hope that this air service will perform well, as there is strong demand, and it will make life easier for many people by shortening travel time between Armenia and China."
Comac C919 500,000 passenger milestone
China's Comac aircraft C919 recently reached a passenger milestone of carrying 500,000 passengers. The aircraft commenced commercial operations on May 28, 2023, the C919 has logging over 10,000 flight hours, operating more than 3,700 commercial flights, and carried over 500,000 passengers
GAMECO Awarded Maintenance Approval for C919 Aircraft
Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company Limited (GAMECO) handled its first Comac C919 aircraft , operated by China Southern Airlines registered B-919J, following award of CCAR-145 Maintenance Organization Certificate, marking a significant milestone for GAMECO in supporting China’s indigenous aircraft industry. GAMECO Deputy General Manager, Mr. Gan Yongjun stated, “We are honoured to provide maintenance and support services for China Southern Airlines' C919 fleet. As a globally competitive aircraft MRO company, GAMECO is also committed to contributing to the development of China’s civil aviation industry. Moving forward, we will continue to enhance our technical expertise and service quality to ensure the safe and efficient operation of China’s indigenously-developed aircraft.”
