Akasa Air selects Prayagraj as 22nd destination
Akasa Air announced the addition of Prayagraj as the 22nd destination to its rapidly growing network commencing 25 May operating daily service. Akasa Air Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Praveen Iyer, said “We are happy to introduce Prayagraj, as the 22nd destination, in our network. Known for its rich cultural heritage, Prayagraj is rated among the most popular tourist destinations in Uttar Pradesh and has been witnessing an uptick in domestic and international tourism, attracting travellers from around the world. The launch of daily flights from Mumbai will further augment economic activity in the region and provide enhanced connectivity options to travellers.”
Air India announces new Delhi-Ho Chi Minh City connectivity
Air India announced a new route between its Delhi Hub and Ho Chi Minh City operating five times weekly from 1st June using two class Airbus A320NEO aircraft. The route is a strategic move by aimed at tapping into the rapidly growing outbound tourism market from India to Vietnam with flight optimized for connections at Air India’s Delhi Hub.

New India regional carrier Fly91 announced further route expansion from Goa to Agatti and Jalgaon and Hyderabad to Jalgaon commencing 18th April. Fly91 CEO and MD Manoj Chacko, said, “We are delighted to introduce Lakshadweep, India’s enchanting Union Territory, as FLY91’s newest domestic destination. The breathtaking natural landscapes, pristine sandy beaches, and rich biodiversity are certain to captivate travellers, inviting them to explore the untouched beauty of the island chain. The launch of these new flights underscores FLY91’s commitment to expanding air travel accessibility and promoting tourism.”
IndiGo announces new Chandigarh-Abu Dhabi route
IndiGo announced a new between Chandigarh which serves as the capital of two Indian states Haryana and Punjab and Abu Dhabi operating daily effective from 15 May. IndiGo Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra said, “We are pleased to announce direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Chandigarh. This new route will offer customers increased options to travel between the UAE & North India. With the addition of these flights, IndiGo will now operate 63 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from 9 cities in India, promoting travel, trade, tourism and fostering the abundant socio-cultural diversity between the two countries.
