Icelandair to lease four Airbus A321LR’s from SMBC Aviation Capital
SMBC Aviation Capital announced that it has concluded a lease agreement with Icelandair for four Airbus A321LR aircraft for delivery in 2024Q4. The aircraft will be Icelandair’s first Airbus aircraft currently an all Boeing medium and long haul operator.
LCI announces management changes
LCI announced management changes strengthening of its team with the appointment of Eric Kataoka as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), and the promotion of Nigel Leishman to Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). LCI CEO Jaspal Jandu, said “I am delighted with both of these announcements. Eric and Nigel bring extensive strength and depth to LCI’s senior executive team and will play pivotal roles in the next chapter of our company’s development. MONTE invests in Hydrogen-Electric Engines
MONTE Aircraft Leasing announced conversion of its existing MOU for up to 100 engines to a definitive Purchase Agreement with ZeroAvia , for ZA600 engines, securing production slots. MONTE and ZeroAvia aim to retrofit 9–19 seat aircraft with ZA600 powertrains for airline operators starting in 2025and ZeroAvia plan to retrofit 9–19 seat aircraft with ZA600 powertrains for airline operators commencing in 2025 also providing backend infrastructure to support operations. MONTE Chief Operating Officer Timothy Eyre, said “We are delighted to have formalized our partnership with ZeroAvia, who have made incredible progress on the ZA600 powertrain since we signed our initial MOU. Through this partnership, we have strengthened MONTE’s position in the zero-emission, regional turboprop market and enhanced our ability to offer operators solutions to decarbonize their fleets. We look forward to continuing our work with the ZeroAvia team as we continue on our journey to become one of the world’s first zero-emission aircraft lessors.”
Stratos delivers two widebody aircraft
Stratos has delivered two widebodies during the summer of an Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 777-300(ER). The lessor announced the sale of an Airbus A330-300 msn 1338 to an DHL affiliate and an Boeing 777-300ER MSN39232 to a major carrier in the Middle East in a transition from Cathay Pacific. Marketing Director Stratos Cian O Shea, said"This redelivery and transition of a large widebody aircraft to an existing client of Stratos in a market where airlines are highly sensitive to cabin spec and maintenance condition is a testament to our placement credentials.”
