Air India optimizes ground handling operations

Air India announced it has signed an agreement with KSU Aviation to launch TaxiBot operations at Delhi and Bengaluru bases for its Airbus A320 Family of aircraft. The strategic partnership is aligned with Air India’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, as the adoption of TaxiB. Air India CEO & MD Campbell Wilson said, “As a responsible airline, Air India is constantly looking for ways to improve sustainability and manage our carbon footprint. The deployment of TaxiBots is one more example of our commitment to reduce emissions and fuel consumption. This collaboration with KSU will allow us to better assess the capabilities of TaxiBots, and potentially lead to greater deployment across Air India’s subsidiaries and other airports.”

Akasa Air announces new lounge product

Akasa Air announced the launch of departure lounge access for its customers across select airports on its network in partnership with DreamFolks Services Limited with a varied charging model depending on the city available to book through its app and website. Akasa Air Co-Founder and Chief Marketing & Experience Officer, Belson Coutinho said, “We are continuously augmenting ways to offer high quality, comfortable and convenient travel experience. The introduction of lounge access service is yet another step in this direction, which allows our customers to enjoy the convenience and comfort of a lounge at a reasonable fee. We are delighted to partner with DreamFolks to offer this added layer of comfort and peace of mind to our valued customers.”

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru reports strong passenger growth 

BLR Airport (Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru ) reported a growth in passenger numbers with a total of 31.91 million with 28.12 million domestic passengers and 3.78 million international passengers during this period. The domestic (DOM) sector recorded a growth of 85%, while the international (INT) sector recorded a growth of 245% vs FY22. BLR maintains its number one position for processing perishable cargo in India for the second consecutive year. Chief Strategy and Development Officer, BIAL Satyaki Raghunath said “From a passenger perspective, the highlights of the year have been Akasa’s growth story, the launch of Qantas’ service to Sydney and the launch of daily Airbus A380 services to Dubai by Emirates.”

15 Airbus A320Neo Aircraft To Vistara by Avolon

Avolon announced it has completed the delivery of 15 A320neo aircraft to Vistara, a joint venture of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines. Vistara Chief Commercial Officer, Deepak Rajawat staed “A modern and efficient fleet is the backbone of any airline operations and enables consistent growth. We are pleased to have worked with Avolon on the delivery of these 15 aircraft which enabled us to continue our expansion and offer greater connectivity to our customers.”
