Air India joins industry bodies FIA and AAPA
In order to better influence and participate in the development of the aviation industry's future, Air India recently announced that it had joined two significant industry associations. Air India has re-joined the Federation of Indian Airlines, a domestic airline organization (FIA). The FIA collaborates with regulatory agencies, government agencies, and other stakeholders to draw attention to important issues, such as safety, passenger amenities, ground services, and aviation protocols, among others, with the overall goal of promoting growth & safety in the Indian aviation sector. Air India MD & CEO Mr Campbell Wilson, said “India is on the cusp of an aviation boom and, as a leading player, it is the responsibility of Air India to play an active role in helping realise this potential. Membership of FIA and AAPA, along with our existing role in IATA, allows us to work together with our domestic and international peers, as well as other stakeholders, to address issues for consumer, industry, national and international benefit.”
Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru's new terminal is powered by Airtel
The brand-new Terminal of Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIAB / BLR Airport), Airtel is powered by Airtel 5G Plus services. Customers of Airtel who have 5G smartphones can use the fast Airtel 5G Plus service with their current data plans. Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) Chief Information Officer, George Fanthome, said, “The desire for best-in-class passenger experience and embracing the latest technology services is at the core of our business. Along with providing world-class physical infrastructure, we are thrilled to enable cutting-edge digital infrastructure for our flyers. We are happy that BLR Airport is the first airport in the country that has been wired with Airtel 5G Plus service. We are doing everything possible to ensure that all passengers traveling from Terminal 2 get the best experience and we hope they make the most of it.”
IndiGo resumes Hyderabad-Dhaka route
To meet the growing demand for travel to Dhaka, IndiGo announced that it would resume service between Hyderabad and Dhaka as of December 8th. "We are thrilled to begin direct flights between Hyderabad and Dhaka," said Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, “In keeping with our commitment to reconnect India with overseas markets post-Covid. This will encourage medical tourists going from Bangladesh to India as they travel for treatment by establishing direct connectivity between these places.”
