Air India begins nonstop service to Milan, increasing connectivity in Europe
Air India began flying nonstop four times per week on B787-8 Dreamliners from Delhi to Milan. Air India's presence in Europe will be greatly expanded with the launch of this flight in addition to the impending operations from Delhi to Vienna and Copenhagen. Air India Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Nipun Aggarwal , said “With the launch of this flight to Milan, we will be spreading our wings to cover major destinations in Europe and fulfil a key element of our five-year transformation plan, Vihaan.AI, that is to strengthen India’s global network. The introduction of these flights is another step in that journey, in sync with our fleet expansion. We look forward to welcoming guests and sharing Air India’s warm Indian hospitality with them.”
IndiGo introduces a Boeing 777 on the Delhi-Istanbul route as its first widebody aircraft
To meet the growing demand for travel from India, IndiGo will begin operating Boeing 777 aircraft on the Delhi to Istanbul route from 1st February. Following the pandemic, Turkey has become one of the most well-liked vacation spots, and in 2022, it will be one of the top locations for Indian tourists traveling abroad. The Boeing 777 aircraft has the seating capacity of 400 passengers in a dual class configuration. Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo said, “We are extremely pleased to induct Boeing 777 aircraft to operate on one the most popular international routes - Delhi-Istanbul-Delhi. The introduction of wide body aircraft will not only increase capacity to Istanbul, but also to Europe through codeshare flights with Turkish Airlines.
Vistara joins forces with WorldTicket
With the sole authorized distributor for Deutsche Bahn, the largest railroad company in Europe, WorldTicket (W2), a division of the 777 Travel Tech group, has formed an interline relationship with Vistara. With the help of the cooperation, Vistara can provide multimodal itineraries to its clients, giving them the ability to easily book rail and flight travel across Germany and other European locations on a single itinerary. Through this collaboration, Vistara becomes the only airline in India to provide such a service for visitors to and from India.. Mr. Deepak Rajawat, Chief Commercial Officer, Vistara said, “We are delighted to partner with WorldTicket and offer Deutsche Bahn’s extensive network of destinations within Germany and the rest of Europe to our customers. This partnership is aimed at making the travel experience of our customers simpler and seamless as they go beyond Frankfurt to other parts of Germany and Europe on a single itinerary.”
Trichy Airport is being upgraded to provide improved services
In order to accommodate the increasing passenger traffic and ease congestion at the airport during peak hours, the Airports Authority of India has taken on the expansion work at Trichy Airport, which includes building a new integrated passenger terminal building, a new apron, an air traffic control (ATC) tower, and upgrading air side facilities. A new apron, related taxiways, and an isolation bay are also part of the airport extension project. These features make the airport ideal for several apron ramp systems, such as five wide-body (Code E) or ten narrow body aircraft (Code C)Other than this, construction of a Control Room, supporting Equipment Rooms, Terminal RADAR, RADAR simulation, Automation facilities, VHF, AAI offices and Meteorological offices are also the part of the project. Project also includes four-lane elevated access road connecting the Terminal Building to the city
