ADS-B Out Deadline Looms for Some PBN Routes in India ADS-B Out will be required for aircraft flying certain performance-based navigation (PBN) routes in Indian airspace above FL290, according to newly released Airports Authority of India AIP supplement 148/2018 effective 1 January 2019. Aircraft operators must indicate the appropriate ADS-B designator in item 10 of the ICAO Flight Plan form to be able to fly these routes above FL290. Air Italy introduces India to its network Air Italy has expanded its route network to India from 6 December, the day which saw the carrier inaugurate flights between Milan Malpensa and Delhi. The carrier will operate the 6,156-kilometre route three times weekly using A330-200s, with services leaving Milan on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while return sectors will depart Delhi on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Indian MRO Business To Get Regional Boost India’s initiative to connect Tier 2 and 3 airports under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) appears likely to provide a boost to the fledgling maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) industry in India. According to the MRO Association of India, 75 percent of domestic carriers’ MRO work happens abroad. Now, with the RCS opening international routes to neighboring countries, further opportunities will open for international carriers for MRO as well, said Ministry of Civil Aviation economic advisor Vandana Aggarwal at the AeroMRO summit held recently in Delhi. IndiGo becomes first Indian airline to have 200 aircraft IndiGo became the first Indian carrier to have 200 aircraft with the delivery of a brand new Airbus A320 VT-IZI. The airline commenced operations on 4 August 2006 has an order book of 530 Airbus A320 Family and ATR Aircraft. WOW Air inaugurates service between Iceland and India WOW Air launched new a route between Reykjavik, Iceland and Delhi, India on Thursday. The new route is operated by the carrier’s Airbus A330-300 aircraft and served three times per week. Founder and CEO of WOW Air Skúli Mogensen said “We are very excited to start flying to New Delhi in December. It’s clear that there is a great need for affordable travel between North America and Delhi.
