Avolon Orders 100 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft Valued At Us$11.5 Billion
Avolon announced 7 December an order for 100 Airbus A320Neo family aircraft valued at US$11.5 billion at current list prices of comprising 75 A320neos and 25 A321neos with deliveries from 2023 onwards. Dómhnal Slattery, Avolon CEO, commented “Our order for 100 A320neo family aircraft builds on our leading industry position and reflects our ambition to become the global leader in the sector. We are locking in growth well into the next decade and building on our existing order book of exclusively new technology aircraft. The scale of the order reflects the long-term commitment and strategic perspective of our shareholders.”
CDB Aviation Delivers First of Six Aircraft to TAP
CDB Aviation announced 6 December that the company began delivery of a fleet of six Airbus aircraft to TAP Air Portugal. The first aircraft delivered to the carrier in November is a new Airbus A321neo, which is part of a lease agreement for a total of four aircraft of the type. The second A321neo is expected to deliver by year-end, with the remaining two aircraft slated for arrival in 2019. CDB Aviation Chief Commercial Officer Patrick Hannigan said “This aircraft delivery supports our important partnership between CDB Aviation and one of the world’s leading airlines, TAP. The addition of these narrowbody and widebody aircraft will support the carrier’s vision of accelerated capacity growth, enabling the airline to launch new routes. We look forward to building our ongoing close relationship with TAP, delivering supportive financing solutions to aid its growth in the years ahead.”
FPG Amentum arranges sale of an A321-200 on lease to British Airways
FPG Amentum announced 5 December the sale of an Airbus A321-200 (MSN 3512) on lease to British Airways. The aircraft was sold on behalf of FPG Amentum’s investor customer Global Aircraft Fund I.
Norwegian subsidiary Arctic Aviation Assets to lease two A320neos to Qingdao Airlines
Norwegian Air Shuttle subsidiary, Arctic Aviation Assets, has completed the delivery of the first of two A320neos on long term operating lease to a new customer, Qingdao Airlines. "We are delighted to support Qingdao Airlines’ continued growth in the Chinese market with these new fuel efficient aircraft", said the lessor.
Universal Asset Management Acquires Boeing 777 Airframe from AerCap
Universal Asset Management, Inc. (UAM) announced 11 December that it has acquired its 8th Boeing 777-200 MSN 29908 formerly operated by Rossiya Airlines. UAM completed the very 1st aircraft disassembly of a Boeing 777 MSN 27109 operated by Varig Brasil in 2006. Shawn Kling, President of UAM, commented, “UAM has a very strong and growing customer base for Boeing wide-body aircraft. We are uniquely positioned globally to continue providing high-value Boeing 777 components to our valued customers which love this aircraft and plan to continue operating them for some time.” UAM expects to acquire and disassemble over 40 aircraft in 2019, after acquiring a record number of aircraft and engines in 2018.
