Civil Aviation ministry okays water aerodrome proposal
The civil aviation ministry has approved a proposal for setting up of water aerodromes in the country, with Chilika Lake in Odisha, Sardar Sarovar Dam and Sabarmati River Front in Gujarat being identified in the first phase for development of such facilities. The Airports Authority of India has already identified the sites in Odisha, Gujarat, Assam, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh where water aerodrome would be developed.

Indian airlines need $50 billion to finance fleet orders
Indian airlines will require an estimated $50 billion of financing to support projected deliveries until 2027. Around 100 aircraft are to be delivered to Indian airlines each year for the next five years. This is by far the greatest volume of aircraft induction in the history of Indian commercial aviation. Projected fleet expansion represents a major opportunity for aircraft investors looking to deploy capital in new generation assets.
Indian parliamentarian pushes for more Women in Aviation
Najma Heptulla, Governor of Manipur, one of the seven hilly and remote Northeast states in India bordering Myanmar, is working to attract more women from Manipur to aviation. Professions should not be gender-specific,” said Heptulla before a group of young enthusiastic girls from local schools in Imphal, Manipur’s capital. The girls had assembled as part of Girls in Aviation Day, an annual event hosted by Lockheed Martin and the Women in Aviation International (WAI), India Chapter, which is aimed at creating and advancing awareness about jobs in aviation and the skills required to do them – from engineers and air traffic controllers to firefighters, ground handlers, pilots and cabin crew.
India Working on Bizav Aircraft Management Rules
India’s ministry of civil aviation is now working on a model that would better accommodate business aircraft management, India Business Aviation Operators Association (BAOA) managing director R.K. Bali told AIN website. These new guidelines would help the country’s business aviation sector to become more cost-effective, he said.
Vistara selects Bluebox for IFE services
Vistara has announced its plan to install Bluebox Aviation wireless in-flight entertainment systems across its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft, pending final regulatory approvals. The deal would cover the 21 A320s currently operated by Vistara, with provisions for Bluebox installations on future craft."With the introduction of wireless streaming of in-flight entertainment content, we will deliver on a product that our customers said they desired, enhancing overall customer satisfaction and experience with an efficient and cost-effective IFE solution," said Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer at Vistara.
