Air France KLM Martinair Cargo ups frequency to Mumbai

Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has increased its freight operations and now serves 67 long-haul destinations including Mumbai in India. The cargo operator now offers four frequency to Mumbai with three on KLM from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) on day 2, 4 & 6 and one on Air France from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on day 5.

Flight operations to return to pre-COVID-19 levels by Diwali: Hardeep Singh Puri 

Flights across India will return to pre-Covid levels by Diwali, said aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri, adding that restarting economic activity was critical as extending the lockdown could be “more devastating than Covid” for the country.  “By Diwali (in November), we will have all our 650 aircraft operated by Indian carriers (flying),” Puri said in an interview. “This may sound optimistic but what else we are going to do?”

IndiGo appoints Venkataramani Sumantran as independent director

The chairman and managing director of Chennai-based Celeris Technologies Venkataramani Sumantran has been appointed the independent director of IndiGo confirmed the airline. Sumantran will hold the post for the next five years.He serves as an adjunct professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is on several statutory and advisory boards in India, Europe and the US, it said. "Dr. Sumantran, with a rich experience of over 35 years having worked in the USA, Europe and Asia, has been an industry leader, technocrat, academic and author." International flight operations to remain suspended till June 30: DGCA The Indian aviation regulator DGCA on said the suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger flights will continue till midnight on 30 June , hours after the Home Ministry announced fresh guidelines pertaining to the countrywide lockdown to contain the coronavirus pandemic. "It is once again reiterated that foreign airlines shall be suitably informed about the opening of their operations to or from India in due course," the circular issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said. Vistara’s first 787-9 aircraft operates its maiden commercial flight on Delhi-Kolkata route  Vistara said its first Boeing 787-9 which was delivered to it by Boeing in February this year, operated its maiden commercial flight from Delhi to Kolkata last week. Vistara’s Chief Commercial Officer Vinod Kannan said, “We are seeing a reasonable demand on some of the routes and are happy to add more flights to fly people home and help them reunite with their loved ones. This also enabled us to deploy India’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Delhi-Kolkata route on 28 and 29 May 2020.” Acumen Aviation © 2 June 2020 All Rights Reserved.
