AAI to collaborate with Sweden to operationalize next generation aviation technology
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and LFV Air Navigation Services of Sweden signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to operationalize next generation of sustainable aviation technology, enabling collaborative flow of expertise and technology. As a first step a joint working group will be established between the two countries.
IndiGo rolls out “Three-Point Disembarkation System” in global first
In a global first the aviation industry Indian carrier IndiGo has rolled out a new “Three-Point Disembarkation System” to improve the passenger experience and operational efficiency. The new process will be initially deployed at Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai bases for its Airbus A320 family fleet operations. IndiGo Executive Vice President Sanjeev Ramdas, said “At IndiGo, we have always looked at newer ways to enhance our customer experience and make flying, as well as our ground operations, efficient and hassle-free. Adding a third ramp for disembarkation is a simple yet effective way to complete a smooth travel experience for our customers. We have always been known for setting new benchmarks in innovating travel and our 16th anniversary is the perfect occasion to make the experience a little sweeter for our customers – as they can get to work or meet their loved ones quicker.”
Successfully launch of DigiYatra App’s beta version at Bengaluru Airport
Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) announced the successful launch of DigiYatra App’s beta version to enable a contactless passenger experience in operation with Air Asia India and Vistara Airlines. Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) CEO & MD Hari Marar stated “It is our constant endeavour at BIAL to offer innovative ways to simplify the passenger journey and make it as seamless as possible. The Digi Yatra Central Ecosystem implementation is one more step towards achieving this. We are glad to be part of the first phase rollout and value the trust reposed in us by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, and the Government of India. As the new gateway to India, BLR Airport is keen to be at the forefront of change and innovation.”
Vistara Airlines announces new route from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi
Vistara Airlines announced the launch of a new route from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi operating daily using Airbus A320neo aircraft. Vistara Airlines CEO Vinod Kannan said “We are delighted to expand our presence in the UAE, with a second Emirate, and offer the choice of flying India’s best airline on one of the busiest international routes from India. We are confident that greater connectivity between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi will complement the growing trade and tourism between the two countries.”
