Aeroflot launches ticket sales for Mumbai-Delhi route Aeroflot has begun ticket sales for flights to Mumbai, India.  Regular flights on the Moscow – Mumbai – Moscow route will launch on 2 July 2020 operating daily using Airbus A330 aircraft. GoAir wins ‘India’s Greatest Brand 2018-19 – Pride of the Nation’ award in aviation category GoAir has been honored with the ‘India’s Greatest Brand 2018-19 – Pride of the Nation’ award in the aviation category. The award was presented by AsiaOne, an international business magazine and URS Media Consulting. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, the Process Advisors for the awards found that GoAir’s brand score was relatively higher than the other brands across various parameters in the same category. The award reinforces our commitment to providing affordable, quality-assured and time efficient services to our flyers.” Jet grounding behind shift in India growth plans, says Virgin Atlantic From 27 October, Virgin Atlantic is beginning a daily London-Mumbai flight, a route on which Jet operated three flights daily. David Hodges says the carrier is looking at forging new partnerships with Indian airlines to receive passengers from smaller Indian cities and towns. The airline, which already has an interline partnership with Vistara, is looking to forge more such partnerships or codeshare agreements with other Indian airlines. In future, Virgin Atlantic may operate between Indian cities other than New Delhi and Mumbai, as it also looks to tap the traffic to England and Europe from other Indian metropolitan cities. SpiceJet launches 46 new domestic flights SpiceJet has announced the launch of 46 new non-stop flights on its domestic network. The new flights will start in phases starting 27 October the airline said in a statement. Additionally, the carrier also announced the on-boarding of Rajkot as its 54th destination on the domestic network with the introduction of a daily non-stop flight on the Mumbai-Rajkot route. Besides, the airline will also launch services on the Chennai-Durgapur UDAN route. The new flight services will be started on the Pune-Jodhpur, Chennai- Durgapur, Mumbai-Jodhpur, Bengaluru-Guwahati, Chennai-Vishakhapatnam, Chennai-Jaipur, Vijayawada-Vishakhapatnam , Hyderabad-Aurangabad, Chennai - Patna, Ahmedabad-Jodhpur, Surat-Udaipur routes, among others. SpiceJet has additional frequencies on the Hyderabad-Varanasi (2nd frequency), Bengaluru-Shirdi (2nd frequency), Chennai-Ahmedabad (2nd & 3rd frequency), Chennai-Guwahati (2nd frequency), Hyderabad-Bengaluru (3rd & 4th frequency), Delhi-Ahmedabad (3rd frequency), Kolkata-Chennai (3rd frequency), Chennai-Bengaluru (5th frequency) sectors. Upcoming Jewar Airport to be India's largest with 6 runways The proposed Jewar Airport in Greater Noida will be India's largest after completion. The airport will have six runways, similar to the world's largest airports, according to Arun Vir Singh, CEO, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). This new airport is expected to provide the National Capital Region with a second facility after Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, which is currently the biggest in the country with three runways.
