Bengaluru Airport recognised as 'Best Airport' at Wings India Awards 2022 The Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) has won two major accolades at the Wings India Awards 2022. BLR Airport has been adjudged the 'Best Airport' under the General Category and has won the ‘Aviation Innovation’ Award. This recognition is one of the industry’s most recognised accolades, and are awarded following an assessment of customer service, facilities, and innovations. MD & CEO, BIAL Hari Marar said "We are honoured to receive this recognition from Wings India 2022 for our relentless efforts in providing superior travel experiences to passengers. As the operator of a world-class airport, BIAL has undertaken a host of steps to enable digital solutions and tech innovations to make travel seamless and memorable. The awards will motivate us further to keep enhancing our services to meet the ever increasing needs of passengers.” Boeing Develops Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management Modernization Roadmap for Airports Authority of India Boeing announced the completion of its milestone project for Airports Authority of India (AAI), to develop a comprehensive 10-year Communication, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) modernization roadmap, undertaken with a grant from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). Boeing, with AAI, conducted a comprehensive analysis across operational, environmental, regulatory, technological, safety, and financial factors to develop and present a roadmap that AAI can use as guidance to modernize the Indian National Airspace System across communication, navigation, surveillance, and capacity and traffic management. Chairman, Airports Authority of India Shri Sanjeev Kumar stated “The implementation of modern technologies will ensure continual upgradation of our infrastructure, enabling us to meet the growing demands of the Indian aviation sector. The roadmap aims to drive operational excellence, and offer enhanced air traffic capacity for our flying public, and improved navigation, communication, and surveillance for our users, making Indian skies seamless and safer to operate in.” Hans Airways achieves important milestones as it targets summer launch Hans Airways has achieved some significant milestones, taking it closer to realising its plan to start commercial operations in early summer. CEO and founder Satnam Saini is extremely encouraged that India re-opened to international scheduled flights. Last week the company formally confirmed its January 2022 Letter of Intent for its first Airbus A330-200 (MSN 950) with a committed contract. Hans Airways Board Director Barry Humphries CBE stated “With the loss of flights operated by India's Jet Airways and British inclusive tour operators Thomas Cook and Monarch Airlines, there is room for a third UK airline flying between UK and India (complementing British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.)  All of us are working exceptionally hard and on schedule to be that third UK designated carrier.” IndiGo to resume international flights to 150 plus countries IndiGo has announced the resumption of its international flight schedule from various destinations in India. These flights will operate from cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Kozhikode, Kochi, Chandigarh, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, and Mangaluru. The international destinations include Dammam, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Jeddah, Riyadh, Doha, Bangkok, Phuket, Singapore, Colombo, Dubai, Kathmandu, Maldives, and Dhaka. Scheduled operations on more than 150 routes will be restarted in a phased manner through the month. IndiGo Chief Commercial Officer Mr. William Boulter stated “"We are pleased to resume our scheduled international operations. Following the easing of restrictions, we are witnessing a huge demand for international travel.
