Avolon And Air Greenland Partner To Tackle Climate Change By Bringing Zero-Emissions Air Travel To The Region
Avolon announced that it has partnered with Air Greenland to bring zero-emissions travel to the region and help tackle the issue of climate change. Avolon and Air Greenland will partner to form a Working Group to assess the opportunity to commercialise zero-emissions air travel in the region. The Working Group will also collaborate to identify local infrastructure and certification requirements for eVTOL aircraft. As part of the agreement, Air Greenland will commit to purchasing or leasing a fleet of VX4 eVTOL aircraft, manufactured by Vertical Aerospace from Avolon. Avolon CEO Dómhnal Slattery stated “Since our initial order, we have seen airlines all over the world make a commitment to the zero emissions travel by selecting the VX4 aircraft as the first step in their decarbonisation journey. Today’s announcement with Air Greenland means we are taking zero-emissions travel to where climate change is having its most pronounced impact. We look forward to working with Air Greenland to bringing the zero-operating emission VX4 aircraft to where it matters the most.”
Clover Aviation Capital delivers the sixth of ten Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to Aeromexico
Clover Aviation Capital announced the delivery of one Boeing 737 MAX 8 to Aeromexico on 23 March 2022, which is the sixth of ten Boeing 737 MAX aircraft under a PDP and sale-and-leaseback transaction entered into between Clover and Aeromexico. The aircraft is powered by CFM LEAP-1B28 engines.
NAC delivered one ATR 72-600 to Loganair on lease
Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced the delivery of one ATR 72-600, MSN 1237, to Loganair on lease.
SMBC Aviation Capital signs up to IATA 25by2025
SMBC Aviation Capital announced that it has signed up to the International Air Transport Association’s IATA 25by2025, which advocates for greater gender diversity in the aviation industry. By signing up to IATA 25by2025, SMBC Aviation Capital is voluntarily committing to increase the number of women in senior positions and under-represented areas by 25% or up to a minimum of 25% by 2025. The company said it will publish key diversity metrics annually. SMBC Aviation Capital Director Talent, Learning, Engagement and Diversity Jane Hoskisson stated “I am pleased to see SMBC Aviation Capital join more than 100 organizations who have embarked on the journey of making 25by2025 a reality. The commitment to achieve a better gender balance is a first step in truly recognizing the value add that women bring to the industry. Even though the majority of our signatories are airlines, SMBC Aviation Capital is one of the very first global aircraft leasing companies that have committed to 25by2025.”
VAH Announces the Further Strengthening of the Management Team; Appointment of General Counsel
Voyager Aviation Holdings announced that Lisa McCarthy has joined VAH as its General Counsel.
