ALSIM wins India simulator contract ALSIM has been awarded a contract by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the design and production of three Flight Simulator Training Device (FSTD) simulators of EASA Flight Navigation and Procedure Trainer (FNPT) Multi Crew Coordination (MCC) level II types for Single Aisle aircraft – Airbus family type in March 2021. The Factory Acceptance will be performed in Nantes, France and the Installation/Commission at AAI in India. The project includes three years warranty followed by another three years of Annual Maintenance Contract. The RFP was released by AAI in January 2020 and international manufacturers from Spain, Austria and Germany participated. The three FNPT II MCC Single Aisle aircraft simulators are scheduled to begin service between the end of 2021 and early 2022. CSMIA Becomes the First Indian Airport to Achieve ACI Health Accreditation Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has again proved its mettle by achieving accreditation under the Airports Council International (ACI) Health Accreditation Programme. IndiGo appoints Director Gregg Saretsky as Special Advisor The Board of Directors of IndiGo announced the appointment of Gregg Saretsky, Member of the Board, to the position of Special Advisor with immediate effect. In this capacity, he will work closely with Rono Dutta, the Executive Leadership Team of IndiGo, and Rahul Bhatia to accelerate operational and commercial improvement opportunities at the airline, InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, said in a regulatory filing. Indigo commences operations from Gwalior Indigo has launched two new routes from Gwalior to Delhi and Indore. The airline will also connect Gwalior to other metro and major cities like Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Hyderabad via Delhi and Mumbai and Goa via Indore. IndiGo chief strategy and revenue officer Sanjay Kumar said “We are pleased to launch operations from Gwalior making it Indigo’s 70th domestic destination and fourth station in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This is yet another milestone for us as we make further strides in our plan to connect seven regional destinations on the 6E network this year.” Mumbai International Airport receives award for energy efficiency The Confederation of India Industry (CII) has granted Mumbai International Airport (BOM) the ‘Energy Efficient Unit’ Award at its 22nd National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2021. The award lauds the airport for its tireless efforts in sustainable and green initiatives, most importantly in assessing the reduction in specific energy consumption, innovation in identifying and implementing energy-saving projects, green supply chain, waste management, GHG Emission and climate change initiatives. The award ceremony was held virtually between 24 and 27 August 2021. Rise in domestic passenger traffic at Mangaluru airport The domestic passenger traffic from Mangalore International Airport (MIA) has shown a steady rise in the month of August as compared to July. According to latest data 26,067 international passengers landed at MIA in August as compared to 18,557 departures in July, thus showing a jump of 40.5%.
