AerCap and Boeing Celebrate the Milestone Delivery of the 100th Aircraft to Ethiopian Airlines
AerCap announced 6 June the delivery of a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, on long term operating lease to Ethiopian Airlines. The milestone delivery marks an important first in African aviation, with Ethiopian Airlines becoming the first African airline to reach 100 aircraft.
Elix Aviation Capital Delivers Bombardier Q400 MSN 4110 to Jambojet
Elix Aviation Capita confirmed 6 June the delivery of Bombardier Q400, MSN 4110, on lease to Jambojet of Kenya. This is the second Q400 delivery by Elix to Jambojet in 2018 following the delivery of Q400 MSN 4554 in March.
FPG Amentum arranges sale of two Germania A319s
FPG Amentum announced 11 June the sale of two Airbus A319-112s (MSNs 3533 & 3560). The aircraft were sold on behalf of FPG Amentum’s investor customer Global Aircraft Fund I.
Lessor SMBC says will take time for fuel to boost lease rates on new-generation planes
Rising oil prices are increasingly focusing airlines’ attention on new, more fuel-efficient Airbus and Boeing aircrafy, but it will take time for lease rates to improve said lessor SMBC Aviation. “I certainly think the chip-up in fuel prices over the last six months has focused attention in airlines on that space,” said SMBC CEO Peter Barrett.
NAC delivers latest E-Jet duo to Russia’s Pegas Fly
Nordic Aviation Capital has delivered two Embraer E190s to Russian carrier Ikar Airlines LLC, operating as Pegas Fly, on lease. The aircraft, serial numbers 19000264 and 19000481, were delivered by the lessor to the airline this week. The airline is based in Krasnoyarsk, Russia and is an aviation subsidiary of Russia’s Pegas Touristik travel operator with a domestic and international route network.
NAC delivered one Embraer E195, MSN 19000239, to LOT Polish Airlines on lease
Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced 6 June the delivery of one Embraer E195, MSN 19000239, to LOT Polish Airlines on lease. This is the second aircraft to deliver as part of a six-aircraft lease agreement.
SMBC Aviation Capital makes $319m profit on $1bn revenues
Irish aircraft lessor SMBC Aviation Capital made a €270 million profit in its last financial year, which ended on 31 March.
