Air Canada To Resume Full India Schedule Air Canada announced it will resume its daily, non-stop Toronto-Delhi flights on 1st October (eastbound) and 3rd October (westbound). "We are very pleased to resume our daily, non-stop Toronto-Delhi flights in time for Diwali celebrations, and with additional capacity going forward to meet expected demand. With our Delhi flights returning to normal together with our seasonal return to Mumbai for fall firmly demonstrating our long term commitment to this vibrant market, we look forward to operating our full schedule to India," said Mark Galardo, Vice President, Network Planning at Air Canada. Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of First of Eight New Airbus A321-200neo LR Aircraft to Aer Lingus Air Lease Corporation announced 26th July the delivery of one new Airbus A321-200neo LR aircraft on long-term lease to Aer Lingus. This Airbus aircraft, featuring CFM International LEAP-1A33 engines, is the first of eight A321-200neo LRs scheduled to deliver to the airline through 2020 from ALC’s order book with Airbus. Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of New Boeing 787-10 Aircraft to EVA Air Air Lease Corporation announced 26th July the delivery of one new Boeing 787-10 aircraft on long-term lease to EVA Air (Taiwan). This aircraft is the first of two 787-10 aircraft to deliver to EVA Air from ALC’s order book with Boeing, joining four 787-9s and four 777-300ERs currently on lease to the airline. The second 787-10 is scheduled to deliver to EVA Air in 2020. Atlas Air Worldwide to Expand in Kentucky Atlas Air announced 25th July it will expand its operations in northern Kentucky to accommodate its growing workforce in the area. Atlas’ plans include a commitment to a long-term lease in a new facility in Erlanger, Kentucky, near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), to support its growing global operations. The new center in Erlanger is expected to open in 2021. CAVU Aerospace Acquires Ex-United Boeing 747-400 for Dismantle CAVU Aerospace announced 23rd July that it has acquired a Boeing 747-400 formerly operated by United Airlines. The aircraft was powered by Pratt & Whitney 4000 engines. Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta approves WestJet's proposed transaction with Onex WestJet announced 26th July that the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta has granted a final order approving the previously announced proposed transaction with Onex Corporation. The Arrangement was approved by more than 92.5 per cent of shareholders and option holders who voted at a special meeting of WestJet held on 23 July. The Arrangement is still subject to other conditions to closing, including receipt of the remaining regulatory approvals. WestJet receives overwhelming securityholder support for its acquisition by Onex WestJet announced 23rd July that at a special meeting held today, its shareholders and optionholders overwhelmingly voted to approve its previously announced proposed transaction with Onex Corporation. Of the votes cast at the Meeting, more than 92.5 per cent of shareholders and optionholders who voted were in favor of the proposed transaction. WestJet reports a significant return to second quarter profitability WestJet announced 26th July its second quarter results for 2019, with net earnings of $44.3 million, compared with a net loss of $15.8 million, or in the second quarter of 2018. "We are very pleased with this significant return to second quarter profitability." said WestJet President & CEO Ed Sims. "I want to acknowledge the remarkable effort of all 14,000 WestJetters who rose to the challenge of delivering this notable improvement in year over year performance and thank all of our guests for their continued loyalty."
