American Airlines to Purchase Boom Supersonic Aircraft
American Airlines announced it signed an agreement to purchase up to 20 Overture aircraft, with an option for an additional 40 aircraft and secured delivery slots for the first 20 aircraft paying a non-refundable deposit. American Airlines CFO Derek Kerr stated “Looking to the future, supersonic travel will be an important part of our ability to deliver for our customers. We are excited about how Boom will shape the future of travel both for our company and our customers.”
Canada Jetlines awarded AOC
Canadian start up carrier Canada Jetlines awarded its air operating certificate (AOC) from Transport Canada, enabling to commence operations out from Toronto Pearson hub with Airbus A320 aircraft. Canada Jetlines CEO Eddie Doyle said “We thank Transport Canada and greatly appreciate the tireless effort and diligence they undertake to approve new airlines. We excitedly look forward to our launch date, meeting the increased demand for convenient, leisure travel in Canada and beyond and to provide more options to explore the world.”
Castle Aviation leases SAAB 340F from Jetstream Aviation Capital
Castle Aviation based in Ohio has leased a Saab 340F from Jetstream Aviation Capital. The aircraft msn 340B-336 is part of five aircraft package and will be operated on behalf of Purolator. In 2004 the carrier was the launch customer and world's first operator of the Saab 340A(F) converted freighter aircraft.
CHC Helicopter Recapitalization
The global rotary wing aviation services provider CHC Helicopters Group announced that it has successfully completed a recapitalization transaction with key stakeholders to significantly reduce its funded debt obligations by up to $500 million subject to the necessary regulatory approvals. CHC Group LLC CEO David Balevic, said “Today marks a significant, positive step forward for CHC providing a clear path to a significantly reduced debt burden for the company which will benefit our customers, suppliers, and employees. Our enhanced balance sheet will provide us greater operating flexibility to meet the rapidly changing rotary wing aviation market.”
Delta Air Lines Teams up with Aviation Partners Boeing
Delta Air Lines and Aviation Partners Boeing announced a shared commitment to reduce carbon emissions. Delta announced a series of purchase agreements with Aviation Partners Boeing for Split Scimitar Winglets for its Boeing 737-800 fleet and for a number of 737-900ER aircraft and for up to 70 of Delta's Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
