Air Lease Corporation Announces Lease Placement of Airbus A330-200 with Sentra Airways Air Lease Corporation announced a long-term lease placement for one used Airbus A330-200 aircraft with Sentra Airways (United Kingdom). Scheduled to deliver this summer, the A330-200 will be the first aircraft in the fleet of the UK startup airline. Air Lease Corporation Assistant Vice President of Marketing Lauren Kervick stated “ALC is pleased to announce this lease placement for one A330-200 with Sentra Airways. Sentra has an exciting growth and business plan operating from the UK to West Africa, and we look forward to growing our relationship over the coming years.” Canada Jetlines to Begin Operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport Canada Jetlines announced that it will begin operations out of Toronto Pearson International Airport with a targeted start date in the summer of 2022. Toronto Pearson is Canada’s largest airport, and pre-COVID served 50.5 million arriving and departing passengers annually. Canada Jetlines will operate out of the airport with a fleet of airbus family aircraft, starting with the A320. Canada Jetlines CEO Eddy Doyle stated “This is an exciting day for Canada Jetlines as we name Toronto Pearson as our primary travel hub, in preparation for summer service. This partnership will allow us to better service both domestic and international travelers to and from Canada’s busiest airport. We are optimistic for the future of Canada Jetlines and aim to strengthen the aviation industry in Toronto and beyond, increasing job opportunities and economic growth in the region.” WestJet Cargo’s first Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter lands in Calgary WestJet Cargo welcomed the arrival of its first of four Boeing Converted Freighter (B737-800BCF) aircraft on lease from BBAM Limited Partnership (BBAM) on Friday 8th April. WestJet Cargo is the first operator in Canada to operate the B737-800BCF which will be used for express cargo and e-commerce freight.The first aircraft (msn 34686) completed conversion by Boeing at an approved MRO facility in Guangzhou, China. WestJet CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech stated “The delivery of our first freighter to our home base in Calgary, Alberta gives us great confidence in the growth and development of our commercial cargo service and I am eager to see our new dedicated commercial cargo service take flight as we begin providing competitive services to cargo customers across Canada.” Spirit Airlines to Begin Discussions with JetBlue Airways Spirit Airlines announced that its Board of Directors has determined, after consultation with the Company's outside financial and legal advisors, that the unsolicited proposal received from JetBlue Airways to acquire Spirit in an all-cash transaction for $33.00 per share could reasonably be likely to lead to a "Superior Proposal" as defined in Spirit's merger agreement with Frontier Group Holdings, Inc. parent company of Frontier Airlines, Inc. Spirit intends to engage in discussions with JetBlue with respect to JetBlue's proposal, in accordance with the terms of the Company's merger agreement with Frontier. Titan Aviation Investments and Amerijet International Announce Long-Term Dry Lease Agreements for Three Boeing 757 Aircraft Titan Aircraft Investments announced the placement of three Boeing 757-200SF converted freighters on long-term dry leases with Amerijet International Inc. to support its network in Central America and the Caribbean. Titan Aviation Holdings CEO & President Michael Steen stated “We are delighted to welcome Amerijet as a strategic customer and to support its long-term expansion plans.
