BOC Aviation Announces New Head Of Treasury
BOC Aviation announced the appointment of Chan Mui Sin as Head of Treasury, with effect from 18th April 2022. Mui Sin replaces Peter Davis who will remain with the company until his retirement on 31st May 2022 to ensure a smooth transition. In her new role, Mui Sin will oversee all treasury functions of the company globally and will report to Steven Townend, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer.
DHL Express unveils new freight route Leipzig to Shenzhen
DHL Express has launched a new route linking the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen with Leipzig, Germany, the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. The route is operated by the cargo airline AeroLogic, with six round flihghts operated bye by Boeing 777 Freighter aircraft each week. DHL Express Shenzhen Gateway Director Clara Yang stated “COVID-19 has driven the accelerated growth of cross-border e-commerce. With the launch of the new route, we will be able to better serve the strong air cargo demand from customers in Shenzhen and its neighboring areas. We will continue the cooperation with Shenzhen Airport Group (Baoan airport's operator) to introduce more routes according to market demand.”
EHang Receives Pre-Order for 100 Units of EH216 AAVs from Indonesian Aviation Company Prestige Aviation
EHang announced that it has received a pre-order for 100 units of EH216 AAVs from Prestige Aviation, an Indonesian aviation company and a subsidiary of Prestige Corp., at the online contract signing ceremony during the Indonesia International Motor Show 2022. It’s the largest pre-order EHang has received so far for its passenger-grade AAVs in Asia. EHang Chairman & CEO Hu Huazhi said “We sincerely appreciate all the support and recognition of Prestige Aviation and our expanding network of partners, which inspire EHang to further expand our global market. We will continue our in-depth collaboration with Prestige Aviation on UAM in Indonesia. We believe that, as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership brings favorable policies to international cooperation, we will further accelerate the development of UAM in Asia Pacific region with the aim to benefit the people with cutting-edge AAV technologies.”
Viasat Receives Landmark Validation of Supplemental Type Certificate for In-Flight Connectivity System on Airbus A320 Aircraft in China
Viasat announced it has been awarded a Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Validation of Supplemental Type Certificate (VSTC) to install its complete, advanced Ka-band satellite system on Airbus A320 series of aircraft. This CAAC validation, Viasat's first in China, lays the foundation for Chinese airlines to install and deploy Viasat's industry-leading In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) system, including antenna, radome, modem, server and WAPs, on Airbus A320s. Viasat's Vice President and General Manager Commercial Aviation Don Buchman stated "Achieving the CAAC validation milestone in China is significant because Chinese-based airlines, using our best-in-class equipment, are now a step closer to delivering an on-the-ground internet experience to their passengers while in-flight. We're grateful to our partners in China for their support and are committed to continuing to invest in this important market -- where we have operated since 1994 -- for the long run."
