SpiceJet Adds 32 New Flights for Winter Programme

Air India Group to establish Bengaluru Maintenance Training Institute

Air India Group announced the establishment of Bengaluru Maintenance Training Institute (BMTO), spread over 86,000 square feet at Bengaluru Airport City, is expected to be operational by mid-2026. The BMTO will be housed close to Air India’s new 12-bay Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at airport. The program at the BMTO will include two years of in-classroom academic coursework followed by two years of practical on-job training at the MRO. Air India Direct Aviation Academy, Sunil Bhaskaran said “The Basic Maintenance Training Organization will establish a pipeline of skilled engineers trained to Air India standards from the outset. This facility and program, combined with proximity to Kempegowda International Airport, will enable our AME cadets to gain hands-on, real-world experience as part of their training, supporting their future as industry-ready professionals aligned with Air India’s ongoing fleet expansion needs.” 

 

FLY91 launches new routes from Solapur

FLY91 announced the launch of two new routes from Solapur to Goa and Mumbai commencing 23 December, operated by ATR72-600 aircraft. Fly 91 Managing Director & CEO Manoj Chacko, said "FLY91 will be the first airline to provide direct connectivity between Mumbai and Solapur, simplifying travel for those frequenting the textile hub and pilgrimage sites. Additionally, connecting Solapur to Goa brings the popular tourist state within convenient reach for the region’s residents.”

 

IndiGo and Japan Airlines to launch codeshare partnership

IndiGo and Japan Airlines announced launch of codeshare partnership effective from 16th December, 2024. JAL operates daily services between its Tokyo hub and Delhi, and five times weekly services to  Bengaluru. IndiGo Senior Vice President Network Planning & Revenue Management, Abhijit DasGupta said “We are delighted to introduce new options for connectivity between India and Japan. This codeshare agreement will further strengthen business, trade and tourism related travel between India and Japan. It will also enable passengers of both airlines to explore some of the most culturally rich destinations in India and Japan, known for their history, culinary experiences, nightlife and significant landmarks. At a time when both the countries are strategically working together, this codeshare will add to the strengthening bilateral ties between India and Japan.”

 

SpiceJet Adds 32 New Flights for Winter Programme

SpiceJet announce the launch of 32 new flights for the winter programme. The schedule features 30 flights will operate in the domestic sector and two connecting Delhi to Phuket with daily non-stop service. The winter schedule, including four new routes from Mumbai to Patna, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Goa. The airline will connect Patna to Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Bengaluru; Chennai to Port Blair and Pune; Delhi to Phuket, Amritsar, Gorakhpur and Kolkata to Port Blair. SpiceJet Chief Business Officer Debojo Maharshi said, “We are delighted to announce the addition of 32 new flights to our network. This expansion reflects our commitment to providing seamless connectivity, affordable air travel and an enhanced customer experience to our passengers. With improved schedules and increased frequencies, we aim to deliver greater reliability and convenience, ensuring our passengers reach their destinations efficiently.”
