SpiceJet Launches UDAN Flights
Air India connects Bengaluru hub and London Heathrow
Air India commenced 27th October a new daily, non-stop services between Bengaluru and London Heathrow, operated by a two class Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. The service will add new capacity to London Heathrow by 3,584 seats per week. Air India currently operates 31x weekly to London Heathrow from Delhi and Mumbai hubs.
IndiGo launches business product IndiGoStretch
IndiGo welcomed its first Airbus A321neo aircraft offering a customized business product for India’s busiest and business routes. The product titled ‘IndiGoStretch’ first flight will commence on 14th November, on the busy Delhi to Mumbai route. The product includes 2-seat wide bay, specially curated healthy meal options by the Chefs at Oberoi Flight Services, and premium seats designed by RECARO. The seats have a six-way adjustable headrest with neck support, 5 inch deep recline to relax, electronic device holder, 60-watt USB-Type C power supply, and a three-pin universal power outlet.
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said, “India’s economy is soaring and with the evolving aspirations of the Indian society, it is time for us to redefine accordingly. IndiGoStretch will create a desired option for many who are aiming to travel business, some of them seasoned and some perhaps for the first time in their life. It is an exciting time for Indian aviation and for IndiGo. By early January, all customers flying between Delhi and Mumbai will be on an IndiGoStretch aircraft and by March 2025, we would cover all flights from Delhi to Bengaluru and Chennai. In the next 14 months, 45 IndiGoStretch planes will be inducted in our fleet and we will ramp up to serve 12 routes with 268 daily flights.”
SpiceJet Launches UDAN Flights
SpiceJet effective 10th October commenced new UDAN flights connecting Shivamogga in Karnataka with Chennai and Hyderabad, using DHC8-400 aircraft, opening tourism, trade, and regional development opportunities. Shivamogga is a new station on SpiceJet’s domestic network and is the airline’s first new destination following its successful INR 3,000 Crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), which has bolstered the airline’s expansion and growth plans.
SpiceJet Chief Business Officer Debojo Maharshi, said “We are excited to add Shivamogga to our network and connect it with Chennai and Hyderabad, two major economic hubs. This expansion reinforces our commitment to improving regional connectivity under the UDAN scheme and offering affordable, seamless travel options to more passengers across India. Additionally, the double daily flights between Chennai and Kochi demonstrate our commitment to meeting the strong demand on this route.
